A cantora Etta James, diva de estilos como blues, R&B (hip hop e pop), soul e jazz, morreu dia 20 de janeiro de 2012 em um hospital em Riverside, na Califórnia (EUA) em decorrência de complicações das doenças que sofria, entre elas leucemia e hepatite C: ela tinha 73 anos – completaria 74 no dia 26.
