A Segunda Igreja Batista em Petrópolis recebeu, com toda alegria, o Pastor Dr. Vanderlei Batista Marins. Conforme decidido em Assembléia, a Igreja aprovou o nome do querido Pastor para o exercício do seu Interinato Pastoral. E a partir de 30/11/08, iniciou-se um novo momento na vida da Igreja quando, juntamente com o Pr. Vanderlei, estão sendo dados importantes passos rumo à sucessão pastoral, oportunidade em que, sob a direção de Deus, será escolhido um novo Pastor. Há muito que a Igreja vem orando e trabalhando neste sentido, e agora passa a contar com a preciosa colaboração deste Grande Homem de Deus.
The Second Baptist Church in Petropolis received with all joy, Pastor Dr. Vanderlei Batista Marins. As decided in Assembly, the church adopted the name of the beloved Pastor for the exercise of his temporary posting Pastoral. Pessoa de hábitos simples e sempre sorridente, o pastor, que atualmente pastoreia a abençoada 1a Igreja Batista em Alcântara, é também ex-presidente da Convenção Batista Fluminense e atual Presidente da Ordem dos Pastores Batistas - Seção Fluminense, tendo atuação destacada na Convenção Batista Brasileira. Foi batizado na Igreja Batista de “Amontado”, RJ, sua terra natal, tendo pastoreado a Terceira de São Fidélis e a Primeira de Cabo Frio. Pastoreou interinamente as Igrejas Batistas Pimeira de Arraial do Cabo, Primeira de Araruama, Primeira de São Fidélis, Igreja Batista de Colônia e Primeira de Ernesto Machado, todas durante processo de escolha de novos pastores.

O Pr. Vanderlei é casado com a irmã Rita de Cássia e tem quatro filhos, todos integrados na obra do Senhor. Que Deus esteja abençoando o Pastor Vanderlei, a Segunda Igreja de Petrópolis e todos os amados irmãos. O Ministério Evangélico Internacional Valorizando a Vida! e seu Presidente, Pastor Dr. Moyses Barbosa, estão em contínuas orações. Ressalte-se que o Pastor Vanderlei é um dos titulados pelo Seminário Teológico Centro-Fluminense, do qual o Pastor Dr. Moysés Barbosa é o Magnífico Reitor, que fez a entrega da diplomação na assembléia da Convenção Batista Fluminense realizada em Três Rios em 2004.
Pastor Vanderlei is married to Sister Rita and has four children, all integrated in the work of the Lord. God is blessing Pastor Vanderlei, the Second Church of Petropolis and all the beloved brothers. The International Evangelical Ministry Valuing the Life! and its President, Pastor Dr. Moyses Barbosa, are in continuous prayer. A Segunda Igreja Batista de Petrópolis era pastoreada há muitos anos pelo consagrado pastor e também grande homem de Deus, Dr. Edelto Barreto Antunes, que faleceu neste ano de 2008. Era integrado às Convenções Batistas Brasileira e Fluminense e, também, fazia parte da Aliança Batista Mundial. Uma grande perda, sem dúvida.
The Second Baptist Church was pastored Petrópolis many years by the renowned pastor and too great man of God, Dr. Edelto Barreto Antunes, who died this year of 2008. Was integrated into Baptist Brazilian and Fluminense Convention and also was part of the Baptist World Alliance. A great loss, no doubt.
