Em sua edição de 04 de setembro de 2011, o Jornal Batista – órgão oficial da Convenção Batista Brasileira – publica o falecimento da Dra. Dorine Cobb Hawkins (Miss Dorine como sempre foi carinhosamente chamada), que trabalhou no IBER (atual CIEM-Centro Integrado de Educação e Missões – Rio de Janeiro) durante 30 anos e o administrou no período de 1947 a 1967, expandindo-o em todos os segmentos: sua morte se deu em 09 de agosto de 2011. Sua atuação foi reconhecida de maneira proeminente também na esfera secular, pois em 1974 recebeu o título de Cidadã do antigo Estado da Guanabara.
In its issue of September 4, 2011, the Baptist Journal - official organ of the Brazilian Baptist Convention - publishes the death of Drª. Dorine Cobb Hawkins (Miss Dorine as it ever was affectionately called), who worked in IBER (present CIEM-Integrated Center Education and Missions - Rio de Janeiro) for 30 years and managed in the period 1947 to 1967,expanding it in all segments: his death took place on August 9, 2011. His performance was also recognized prominently in the secular sphere, because in 1974 he received the title of Citizen of the former state of Guanabara.
Em matéria inserida na página do CIEM, a Dra. Maria Bernadete da Silva, Diretora Executiva do órgão, afirma textualmente: “Há muito o que dizer sobre a grande influência da Dra. Dorine na vida de seus estudantes; em 1976, quando ela estava deixando o Brasil, um artigo no Jornal Batista afirmava que “o que ela teve a oportunidade de fazer está indelevelmente marcado nas centenas de IBERistas que receberam a influência de suas aulas, de seus conselhos, de suas orações e de seu exemplo”.
In terms inserted in the page of CIEM, Drª Maria Bernadette da Silva, Executive Director of the organ, states verbatim: "There is much to say about the great influence of Drª. Dorine in the lives of their students, in 1976, when she was leaving Brazil, a Baptist Newspaper article stated that "she had the opportunity to do is indelibly marked in the hundreds of Iberia who received the influence of their classes, their advice, their prayers and their example".
Dra. Laudicéa Barbosa (foto), irmã de +Dom Moysés Barbosa, graduou-se em Educação Religiosa no antigo IBER e conheceu de perto a atuação desta valorosa professora e afirma que era uma pessoa excepcional, de ímpares virtudes, que “em muito engrandeceu a instituição e a denominação batista e, também, toda a comunidade evangélica do país.
Dra. Laudicéa Barbosa (photo), sister of +Don Moyses Barbosa graduated in Religious Education in the old IBER and experienced first-hand the work of this courageous teacher and said it was an exceptional person, the unique virtues, which "greatly magnified the institution and Baptist denomination, and also all the evangelical community in the country”.
