Pessoas religiosas são mais felizes e superam melhor as situações difíceis do que as pessoas não-religiosas, afirmam pesquisadores norte-americanos: o estudo foi realizado na Universidade de Illinois, e analisou dados do Gallup World Poll 2005-2009 coletado em mais de 150 países.
Religious people are happier and overcome difficult situations better than non-religious people, say U.S. researchers, the study was conducted at the University of Illinois, and analyzed the Gallup World Poll data collected in 2005-2009 more than 150 countries.
Publicada no “Journal of Personality and Social Psychology”, a pesquisa mostra que 68% dos entrevistados afirmaram que a religião é parte importante de suas vidas.
Published in “Journal of Personality and Social Psychology”, the survey shows that 68% of respondents said that religion is an important part of their lives.
“Circunstâncias difíceis levam as pessoas a serem mais religiosas, o que as torna mais felizes do que aquelas que não se ligam a nenhuma religião”, afirmou Ed Diener, autor da pesquisa (18 de agosto de 2011).
“Difficult circumstances lead people to be more religious, which makes them happier than those who do not bind to any religion”, said Ed Diener, author of the research (August 18, 2011).
