Em recente entrevista concedida à Revista IGREJA (estamos em abril de 2011), a ser publicada - a peridiocidade da revista é bimensal - +Dom Moysés Barbosa, respondendo as perguntas formuladas, fez importantes declarações, especialmente quanto às suas inúmeras formações e titulações e falou da utilidade das mesmas no exercício do ministério eclesiástico-pastoral.
In a recent interview with the Magazine CHURCH (we are in April, 2011), to be published - the periodicity of the magazine is bi-monthly - +Don Moyses Barbosa, answering the questions, made important statements, especially with regard to its various training and qualifications and the the usefulness of them in the exercise of ecclesiastical and pastoral ministry.
“Todos os títulos que recebi, abriram-me novas portas, mas o de Doutor em Direito Eclesiástico abriu portas que eu chamaria de especiais, pois tive oportunidade de pregar o Evangelho em locais onde jamais pensei que pudesse chegar, pois passei a receber convites para conferências, palestras em reuniões de Ordens de Pastores e especialmente palavras em Igrejas (de pequeninas a gigantescas)”, declarou.
“All titles have received, opened new doors to me, but the Doctor of Laws of Ecclesiastical opened doors that I would call special, because I had the opportunity to preach the Gospel in places where I ever thought I could get, because I received invitations to conferences, speeches at meetings of Orders of Pastors and churches in particular words (from tiny to huge)”, he said.
+Dom Moysés disse que suas múltiplas formações são “por demais valiosas pois me capacitam a administrar com propósitos, planejamento, para falar, orientar, esclarecer em praticamente todas as áreas, pois tenho muitas formações regulares: Ciências e Letras, Administração de Empresas, Gestão Hospitalar, e cursos não-superiores em Assistência Social, Gestão Financeira, Jornalismo e muitos outros”, acrescentando que todos estes estudos permitem “melhor entendimento do texto sacro, principalmente no que respeita à elaboração de sermões e conferências sobre temas bíblicos relacionados com problemas e temas atuais”.
+Don Moyses said its multiple formations are “too valuable for me to enable you to manage goals, planning, speaking, guiding, explaining in virtually all areas, because I have many regular formations: Science and Humanities, Business Administration, Management hospital, and courses in higher non-Social, Financial Management, Journalism and many others”, adding that all these studies allow “better understanding of the sacred text, especially as regards the preparation of sermons and lectures on biblical themes and related issues current issues”.
Indagado se com os estudos houve mudança em sua visão de Deus, +Dom Moyses foi enfático: “Meu temor do Senhor, que era um temor sagrado (sei que Deus é poderoso e tenho que ser submisso), passou a ser um temor moral (fico com vergonha de Deus quando faço algo que minha consciência - que é o termômetro do pecado - me acusa), e isso faz com que eu contemple Deus estendendo sua mão de poder em minha direção no momento da dificuldade e, assim, procuro resistir ao maligno, para que ele fuja, e longe de tudo que possa atrapalhar minhas relações com o Senhor, eu esteja apto a estender minha mão para Ele, e receber a bênção”.
Asked whether the studies was change in their vision of God, +Don Moyses was emphatic: “My fear of the Lord, who was a holy dread (I know that God is powerful and I have to be submissive), became a moral dread (I am ashamed to God when I do something that my conscience - that is the thermometer of sin - accuses me) and it makes me contemplate God extending his hand of power in my direction at the time of difficulty, and thus try to resist evil, that he run away, and away from anything that might hinder my relationship with the Lord, I am able to extend my hand to him and receive his blessing”.
Sobre eventuais críticas por dedicar-se tanto aos estudos, possivelmente em prejuízo do exercício ministerial, +Dom Moysés usou poucas palavras e disse: “nunca recebi críticas, só elogios, e todos acham que se pode conciliar estudo com exercício ministerial: ao contrário, todos dizem que gostariam de ter a disposição e paciência que tenho para estudar, para buscar formação e aperfeiçoamento, renunciando momentos de lazer...”.
About any criticism for devoting to both studies, possibly at the expense of the exercise ministerial +Don Moyses used fewer words and said: “I have never received criticism, only praise, and everyone thinks you can combine study with ministerial exercise: instead, all say they would like to have the willingness and patience that I have to study, to seek training and development, giving up leisure time...”.

Encerrando a entrevista, ao falar de sua origem, com muito orgulho de sua infância a adolescência nos idos de 1954, informou que começou a vida “catando ferro velho, vendendo chuchu na cesta, carregando almoço para operários de fábricas”, e mesmo tendo chegado à posição atual, encerrou dizendo que se qualifica como “ o mais humilde dos servos do Senhor Jesus”.
Concluding the interview, when talking about his home, proud of her childhood to adolescence back in 1954, reported that life “began picking up scrap metal, selling chayote in the basket, carrying lunch to workers in factories”, and even having reached the current position, closed saying that qualifies as “the most humble servant of the Lord Jesus”.
