No final de 2010 o Comendador Fabrício Santos (foto), Presidente da Academia de Ciências, Letras e Artes de Minas Gerais - ACLA, com sede em Manhuaçu, foi homenageado com uma importante titulação, face a suas múltiplas atividades, todas voltadas para o bem-estar de sua comunidade e, também, comunidades outras de diversos pontos do território nacional: recebeu o diploma de Destaque Internacional - 2010, ao lado de outras personalidades que foram destaque internacional em seus países, como por exemplo, Portugal, onde já recebeu sua diplomação a Professora Doutora Marli de Barros Dias, radicada em Évora.

E no começo de 2011 o Comendador Fabrício Santos foi distinguido com uma das mais elevadas condecorações instituídas pelo Conselho Nacional de Pastores Evangélicos - CONAPEV, qual seja a Medalha de Honra ao Mérito da Justiça, pois se fez merecedor em decisão plenária no ano passado, mas só agora lhe foi solenemente entregue.

O Comendador Fabrício é personalidade das mais proeminentes em Manhuaçu, sendo que na atualidade exerce com zelo e eficiência o elevado cargo de Diretor do Departamento de Cultura na Prefeitura Municipal, porta que Deus lhe abriu para que possa ser ainda mais útil à comunidade local.

Comenda é uma condecoração concedida a pessoas que se destacam em suas áreas de atuação, como artistas, políticos, religiosos,; empresários, esportistas e outros destaques em diferentes segmentos, valendo notar que quando surgiu na Idade Média, este titulo era uma recompensa e tinha um significado bem diferente, pois naquele tempo, a comenda era um benefício dado a membros do clero destacados em sua missão ou a militares que demonstravam valentia em batalhas.

“Geralmente, a comenda era algo valioso, como o título de propriedade de uma terra recebida, mas com o passar dos séculos, seu valor tornou-se simbólico, representado por diplomas ou medalhas”, afirma Waldemar Baroni, heraldista (especialista em títulos e emblemas da nobreza) do Conselho Estadual de Honrarias e Mérito de São Paulo (CEHM).
