Ao completar sessenta anos de ministério, dos quais quase vinte na liderança da Igreja Batista Memorial de Belo Horizonte, o Pastor José Alves da Silva Bittencourt, uma das notáveis lideranças da Convenção Batista Brasileira, foi alvo de uma grande homenagem.
By completing sixty years of ministry, of which almost twenty leading the Memorial Baptist Church in Belo Horizonte, Pastor Jose Alves da Silva Bittencourt, one of the notable leaders of the Brazilian Baptist Convention, has received a standing ovation.
No dia 31 de julho de 2010, em culto solene, este conceituado homem de Deus recebeu o título de PASTOR EMÉRITO, tendo sido o mensageiro na oportunidade o seu genro, também Pastor, Lélio Lopes da Silveira.
