PRESIDENT LULA'S TRIP TO THE AFRICAN CONTINENT
O Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, do Brasil, fez um balanço da viagem ao continente africano no programa de rádio “Café com o Presidente” do dia 12/07/10. A visita oficial a seis países (Cabo Verde, Guiné Equatorial, Quênia, Tanzânia, Zâmbia e África do Sul) foi classificada como sendo a oportunidade de saldar uma dívida histórica do Brasil para com a África.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil, reported on the trip to Africa in the radio program "Breakfast with the President" of the day 12/07/10. The official visit to six countries (Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa) was classified as an opportunity to settle a historical debt of Brazil to Africa.
O Presidente explicou que a EMBRAPA [Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária] vem desenvolvendo estudos para melhorar a qualidade do solo da savana africana, tornando-o um terreno fértil para produção de alimentos.
The President explained that EMBRAPA [Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Research] is developing studies to improve the soil quality of the African savannah, making it a fertile land for food production.
