Central Bank of Brazil Launches Commemorative Coin
O Banco Central (BC) do Brasil lançou hoje (21/04/10) a moeda comemorativa dos 50 anos da fundação da capital federal. A solenidade ocorreu no Museu da República e contou com a presença do Secretário-Executivo do Banco Central, Isaac Sidney Ferreira, que representou o presidente Henrique Meirelles no evento.
The Central Bank (BC) of Brazil launched today (21/04/10) coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the federal capital. The ceremony took place in the Republic Museum and was attended by the Executive Secretary of the Central Bank, Isaac Sidney Fox, who represented President Henrique Meirelles at the event.
A moeda, elaborada em prata, com partes foscas e espelhadas, tem valor de face de cinco reais. No anverso, há uma composição de imagens do Congresso Nacional, do Palácio do Planalto e da escultura Guerreiros. No reverso, a reprodução do esboço do projeto original do Plano Piloto. A tiragem inicial é de cinco mil peças, mas poderá chegar a 30 mil, de acordo com a demanda.
The coin, made in silver with frosted and mirrored shares, has a face value of five dollars. On the obverse, there is a composite image of Congress, the Presidential Palace and sculpture Warriors. On the reverse, playing the outline of the original design of the Pilot Plan. The initial circulation is five thousand parts, but may reach 30 thousand, according to demand.
