RESIDENT LULA MILITARY HONORS DEAD IN HAITI TO THE PACIFIC MEDAL WITH PALM
“Há momentos em que as palavras se tornam frágeis diante da brutalidade dos fatos. Cada um dos militares mortos no Haiti devido ao intenso terremoto que atingiu a ilha na semana passada reafirmou a vocação pacífica e solidária do Brasil durante sua vida e atuou com firmeza e coragem para combater a violência e criminalidade no país caribenho, sabendo conviver harmoniosamente com a população local”, afirmou o Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva durante cerimônia em homenagem aos militares realizada no dia 21/01/10 na Base Aérea de Brasilia.
“There are times when words become fragile in the face of brutal facts. Each of the military deaths in Haiti due to the intense earthquake that struck the island last week reaffirmed his vocation in peace and harmony in Brazil during his life and acted with firmness and courage to combat violence and crime in the Caribbean country, knowing live harmoniously with local population”, said President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva during a ceremony in honor of the soldiers held on 21/01/10 at Air Base in Brasilia.
