Maitê Proença, atriz brasileira, esteve no HAITI em fevereiro de 2010, prestando ajuda humanitária aos flagelados do terremoto. Foi recepcionada e gentilmente acolhida pelos militares do Brasil que integram a Força de Paz das Nações Unidas naquele país.

Ao voltar ela fez através da TV Globo um relato da situação dramática que encontrou e falou das ajudas que foram prestadas, especialmente sobre colocação de próteses em pessoas mutiladas, sendo muito grande o número de crianças carecendo de atendimento neste aspecto.
