Após nove anos ministrando a palavra do Evangelho no Senegal, os missionários brasileiros Carlos, Elza e o filho Phillippe Santos conseguiram recentemente uma vitória: construir em alvenaria as instalações da Igreja Batista Renovada Emmanuel, em Salemata, região rural do país, localizada no oeste da África.

A verba foi destinada à construção de um poço d’água e regularização de um terreno nas regiões de Selim e Kedougou.
Após nove anos ministrando a palavra do Evangelho no Senegal, os missionários brasileiros Carlos, Elza e Phillippe Santos conseguiram recentemente uma vitória: Construir em alvenaria as instalações da Igreja Batista Renovada Emmanuel em Salemata, região rural do país, localizado no oeste da África.
E agora para a glória de Deus temos um templo de alvenaria para adorar nosso Deus. Embora Sua gloria também se manifestava na cabana de palha, depois da inauguração, já tem uma família inteira que veio para Jesus e quer se batizar.
É assim no campo missionário, não podemos querer que Deus faça as coisas ao nosso tempo, esperamos nove anos para realizar este sonho e temos visto a fidelidade de Deus, escreveu o missionário Carlos Santos, natural do estado do Espírito Santo.
É muito lindo ver algo que Deus colocou em seu coração e realizar. Tivemos conosco cinco irmãos da Igreja, juntamente com o pastor, durante uma semana, e foi uma benção. Aproveitamos a visita deles, batizamos sete pessoas, juntamente com a inauguração do templo, eles ficaram muitos alegres de poderem estar abençoando Salemata. Foi uma semana bem diferente para o povoado, pois foi a primeira vez que recebemos visitas e realmente foi uma benção. Pedimos que continuem a orar por esta Igreja, pois a mesma sentiu de Deus de estar reparando o poço para nós, já estamos viajando no final do mês para este trabalho, Deus realmente é muito fiel, acrescentou ele.

Os missionários brasileiros Walter e Alzira Freire anunciaram em julho de 2011 que o Projeto “Surdos do Senegal” alcançou mais uma grande vitória: foi inaugurada a escola na cidade de Thiés, uma das principais do país africano, que fica perto da capital Dacar.

Os senegaleses que vivem no Brasil, de mãos dadas com seus irmãos brasileiros, comemoraram o Jubileu de Ouro da independência do Senegal, a partir de 04 de abril de 2010, pois como se sabe, o país da costa ocidental do continente africano se tornou independente da França há 50 anos, ou seja, em em 04 de abril de 1960.

No ano de 2003 a missionária Ivonete Maria dos Reis (à direita da foto) chegou ao Senegal, mais exatamente em Joal-Fadiouth e teve um sonho: abrir um,a escola que marcasse a presença cristã no local e que atendesse às necessidades da população carente.

Present solutions adopted by countries in South Africa and to overcome inequalities: this was the main objective of the Fifth Global Forum of the Americas, Africa and the Amazon, held on 27 and 28 October 2009 in Brasilia (capital of Brazil) and organized by the Women's Union of the Americas (UNIFESP), chaired by Margaret Chaulet.
O encontro abordou temas como o protagonismo das mulheres em áreas fronteiriças com o Brasil e o feminismo na América Latina, com palestrantes da Argentina, Uruguai, Moçambique e Cabo Verde, além da ministra do Superior Tribunal Militar, Maria Elisabeth Rocha.

Afirmou textualmente o Presidente, em fala que foi divulgada também pela página do Palácio do Planalto na internet:
On his radio program “BREAKFAST WITH THE PRESIDENT”, the day 27/07/2010 The President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (photo), of Brazil, said there was a debt of Brazil and Africa that will never be paid in cash. Literally said the president, in speech that was also released by the page from the Presidential Palace on the Internet:
“É importante a gente nunca esquecer que nós ficamos 380 anos praticando escravidão neste país. O Brasil foi o último país do mundo a abolir a escravidão. Acho que nós temos uma dívida enorme com o continente africano, com o povo africano. É uma dívida que a gente nunca vai poder pagar em dinheiro. A gente vai poder pagar em solidariedade, em ajuda humanitária, em ajuda ao desenvolvimento, em ajuda no conhecimento científico e tecnológico que o Brasil tem a ajudar o povo da África. Assim como o Brasil, todos aqueles que conseguiram crescer colocando em prática a política, eu diria, intolerável da escravidão”.

Escravidão, também conhecida como escravismo ou escravatura, foi a forma de relação social de produção adotada, de uma forma geral, no Brasil desde o período colonial (1530 - 1822) até a assinatura da Lei Áurea em 13 maio de 1888, sendo que a escravidão no Brasil teve como marca o uso de escravos vindos do Continente Africano, mas é necessário ressaltar que muitos indíginas foram alvo de tal processo.

O trio do SENEGAL Irmãos Guissé retornou ao Brasil (Ceará) em maio de 2009, para oficinas na Fundação Casa Grande, em Nova Olinda, e shows em Juazeiro do Norte e Fortaleza.
The trio of brothers SENEGAL Guissa returned to Brazil (Ceara) in May 2009 for workshops in Casa Grande Foundation in Nova Olinda, and concerts in Juazeiro do Norte and Fortaleza.
Os senegaleses Irmãos Guissé conquistaram o público cearense na serra, com uma musicalidade de cores fortes, em que a percussão foi destaque, porém longe de ser a única virtude do grupo. Bastaram dois violões e uma espécie de “percuteria” para, mesmo entoando canções em dialetos locais, ultrapassar as fronteiras da linguagem e estabelecer imediata e completamente uma intensa comunicação com a platéia.
The Senegalese brothers Guissa conquered the public saw in Ceará, with a musicality of strong colors, where the percussion was featured, but far from the only virtue of the group. It took two guitars and a sort of "strikes" for even singing songs in local dialects, exceed the boundaries of language and establish immediate and quite an intense communication with the audience.

Depois de uma temporada de um mês em São Paulo, em janeiro de 2009, a Exposição ECOS DE DAKAR, reunindo fotos do SENEGAL, de autoria da jornalista e fotógrafa Márcia Guena, voltou a Salvador, no mesmo ano.
After a period of one month in Sao Paulo in January 2009, the Exhibition ECHOES OF DAKAR, SENEGAL gathering photos, authored by journalist and photographer Marcia Guen, he returned to Salvador, the same year.
A mostra foi aberta no dia 09 e permaneceu aberta ao público até o dia 23 de maio (2009). Realizada inicialmente em Salvador, em agosto de 2007, a Exposição tem como curador o jornalista e também fotógrafo Marcelo Reis.
The exhibition was opened 9 day and remained open to the public until the 23 may (2009). Initially held in Salvador in August 2007, the exhibition curator is to the journalist and the photographer Marcelo Reis.

No período de 07 a 12 de junho de 2009, o Ministério do Desenvolvimento, indústria e comércio Exterior, em parceria com o Ministério das Relações Exteriores e com a Agência Brasileira de promoção de Exportações e Investimentos, realizou missão a quatro países da África Subsaariana.
The period of 07 to 12 June 2009, the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion, held mission to four countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
A missão foi liderada pelo Ministro Miguel Jorge e visitou Nigéria, Gana, Senegal e Guiné Equatorial, tendo por objetivo promover o aumento do comércio e dos investimentos brasileiros naquela região, assim como explorar possibilidades de cooperação entre os setores produtivos brasileiros e africanos.
The mission was led by Minister Miguel Jorge and visited Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Equatorial Guinea, aiming to promote increased trade and investment Brazilians in the region, as well as explore possibilities of cooperation between the productive sectors in Brazil and Africa.

Após nove anos ministrando a palavra do Evangelho no SENEGAL, os missionários brasileiros Carlos e Elza Santos (Phillippe é filho do casal nascido no Senegal) conseguiram recentemente uma vitória: construíram em alvenaria as instalações da Igreja Batista Renovada Emmanuel, em Salemata, região rural do país localizado no oeste da África.
After nine years ministering the word of the Gospel in Senegal, the Brazilian missionaries Carlos and Elsa Santos (Phillippe couple's son is born in Senegal) recently achieved a victory: built in brick plants in the Emmanuel Baptist Church renewed in Salemata, rural region of country located in western Africa.
“E agora para a glória de Deus temos um templo de alvenaria para adorar nosso Deus, embora Sua gloria também se manifestava na cabana de palha...”, declaram felizes estes mensageiros dos Santos Evangelhos.

Em visitação a vários países da África, o Presidente do Brasil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (esquerda da foto – Ilha Gorée) chegou a Dacar, capital do país, no dia 13/04/05, cumprindo a última etapa da viagem ao Continente Africano, acompanhado de vários Ministros.
In visiting several countries in Africa, Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (left photo – Island Gore) arrived at Dakar, the capital, on 13/04/2005, fulfilling the last leg of the trip to the African continent, together several Ministers.
No Aeroporto Internacional Leopold Sedar Senghor, o governante brasileiro foi recepcionado por autoridades locais e teve um encontro oficial com o Presidente do SENEGAL, Abdoulaye Wade, no Palácio da República, onde houve jantar em sua homenagem.
In International Airport Leopold Sedar Senghor, the official Brazilian was approved by local authorities and revealed an official meeting with President of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, the Palace of the Republic, where there was a dinner in his honor.
Na Ilha de Gorée, durante excursão pela Casa dos Escravos, o Presidente do Brasil e membros de sua comitiva se emocionaram. O ministro da Cultura, Gilberto Gil fez um discurso emocionado em francês. O Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, também emocionado, fez um discurso em que pediu perdão aos africanos pela escravidão ocorrida no Brasil:"Não tenho nenhuma responsabilidade pelo que aconteceu nos séculos 16, 17 e 18. Mas penso que é uma boa política dizer ao povo do Senegal e da África: perdão pelo que fizemos." O Presidente do Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, elogiu o presidente brasileiro e disse:"Considere-se um africano".
On the Island of Goree, during tour of the House of Slaves, Brazil's president and members of his entourage were moved. The Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil made an emotional speech in French. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, also excited, gave a speech in which he apologized to Africans for slavery that occurred in Brazil: "I have no responsibility for what happened in the ages 16, 17 and 18. But I think it is good policy to say the people of Senegal and Africa forgiveness for what we did. " The president of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade praised the Brazilian president and said, "Consider yourself an African."
Louvável a atitude do Presidente do Brasil que, sem dúvida, falou em nome de todos nós brasileiros, que não mediremos esforços para que as práticas que motivaram o pedido de perdão não voltem a se repetir.
Commendable attitude of the President of Brazil, undoubtedly spoke for all of us Brazilians, who will spare no efforts to ensure that the practices that led to the apology did not go back to repeat itself.

Uma ilha a 5 km da costa de Dacar que foi porto de reabastecimento e ninho de negreiros, pois nela funcionou a “Casa de Escravos”. O interesse geo-estratégico da ilha decaiu com a fundação de Dacar e com a abolição da escravatura. Mas guarda ainda o valor histórico-militar do seu forte. É na atualidade uma estância turística, com porto de pesca e ponto de apoio de navios, especialmente senegaleses.
An island 5 km from the coast of Dakar that was fueling port and slave nest, since it ran the "House of Slaves”. É um produto com maior potencialidade para a ampliação das relações comerciais entre o Senegal e o Brasil.
