O Brasil foi descoberto pelos portugueses no dia 22 de abril de 1500.

O Capitão Basilio Baranoff, do Brasil, recebeu condecoração do Governo Russo, de elevada homenagem, que foi entregue à Sra. Nazareth Rodrigues Baranoff - Esposa, à Filha Nádia Angélica Baranoff e ao filho Wladymir Alexander Baranoff, já que depois de cumpridos todos os trâmites diplomáticos, o homenageado havia falecido (21/09/2008) aos 75 anos de idade.

Captain Basil Baranoff, Brazil, received award of the Russian government, high honor, which was delivered to Mrs. Robinson Baranoff Nazareth - Wife, Daughter of Nadia Angelica Wladymir Baranoff and son Alexander Baranoff, since upon completion of all formalities diplomatic, was the honored dead (21/09/2008) at 75 years of age.

A homenagem foi feita pela vida e obra de Baranoff - todo o trabalho dele junto à Rússia no afã de dotar o Brasil de uma tecnologia espacial, em intercâmbio constante com a Federação da Rússia.

Fundada no ano de 1701, a Academia Naval Russa é a mais antiga instituição de ensino no país. Ao final do evento, foram proferidas palavras de agradecimentos por um Guarda-Marinha e entregue um brasão do Navio-Escola para o salão histórico da Academia.

Founded in 1701, the Russian Naval Academy is the oldest educational institution in the country. At the end of the event were given words of thanks for a midshipman's coat and delivered a training ship for the historic hall of the Academy.

O Navio-Escola “Brasil” realizou, ainda,  no dia 20 de Setembro de 2007, em São Petersburgo (antiga Leningrado), Aposição Floral no Memorial em homenagem ao Bloqueio de Leningrado e em respeito às vitimas e aos soldados que tombaram em defesa da pátria russa, durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.

The training ship "Brazil" also carried out on September 20, 2007 in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), Floral Affixing the Memorial in honor of the Leningrad Blockade and in respect of victims and the soldiers who fell in defense of Russian homeland during the Second World War.

Após a cerimônia, foi realizada uma visita ao museu do memorial, na qual os visitantes tiveram a oportunidade de conhecer um pouco mais do difícil período em que a cidade viveu sitiada. No final do evento, o Comandante do Navio-Escola “Brasil” assinou o livro de Honra do Memorial.

After the ceremony was held a visit to the memorial museum, where visitors had the opportunity to learn a little more difficult period in which the city was besieged. At the end of the event, the Commander of the Ship-School "Brazil" signed the book of Honor Memorial.

 Em continuação aos eventos programados para a estadia no Porto de São Petersburgo, foi realizada, também no dia 21 de setembro 2007, uma visita ao Museu Central da Marinha russa. Tal evento contou com a participação de 25 Guardas-Marinha que tiveram a oportunidade de aprofundar os conhecimentos sobre a história daquela Força. Nessa ocasião, foram ressaltados os eventos mais significativos da Marinha russa, desde o período do Czar Pedro I até os dias atuais.

In continuation to the events scheduled to stay at the Port of Saint Petersburg was also performed on September 21, 2007, a visit to the Central Museum of Russian Navy. This event was attended by 25 midshipmen who had the opportunity to gain more knowledge about the history of that Force that occasion, were highlighted the most significant events of the Russian Navy since the time of Czar Peter I to the present day.

O Navio-Escola “Brasil” realizou, no dia 20 de Setembro, em São Petersburgo (antiga Leningrado), por ocasião de sua XXI Viagem de Intrução de Guardas-Marinha, Aposição Floral no Memorial em homenagem ao Bloqueio de Leningrado e em respeito às vitimas e aos soldados que tombaram em defesa da pátria russa, durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.

The training ship "Brazil" was held on 20 September in St Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), during his trip XXI of instructing midshipmen, Floral Affixing the Memorial in honor of the Leningrad Blockade and in relation to victims and the soldiers who fell in defense of the Russian homeland during the Second World War.

Após a cerimônia, foi realizada uma visita ao museu do memorial, na qual os visitantes tiveram a oportunidade de conhecer um pouco mais do difícil período em que a cidade viveu sitiada. No final do evento, o Comandante do Navio-Escola “Brasil” assinou o livro de Honra do Memorial.
