CABO VERDE SEDIOU RETIRO ESPIRITUAL DE MISSIONÁRIOS
CAPE VERDE HOSTED SPIRITUAL RETREAT OF MISSIONARIES
Foi realizado de 30 de agosto a 03 de setembro de 2011 o Retiro Continental que reuniu as 36 famílias missionárias da Junta de Missões Mundiais-JMM na África Ocidental e Central.
It was held from August 30 to September 3, 2011 the Continental Retreat that brought together 36 missionary families of the Board of World Missions-JMM in West and Central Africa.
O evento aconteceu na cidade da Praia, em Cabo Verde, e foi uma iniciativa do Diretor Executivo da JMM, Pr. João Marcos Barreto Soares: os retiros visam proporcionar aos missionários um momento de reflexão e oportunidades de discussão acerca do trabalho missionário no Continente Africano.
The event was held in Praia, Cape Verde, and was an initiative of the Executive Director of the JMM, Pastor John Baker Mark Smith: retreats aim to give the missionaries a moment of reflection and discussion of opportunities for missionary work in the African Continent.
O retiro também é uma oportunidade que se abre para se ouvir testemunhos, compartilhar experiências de campo, planejar e discutir temas pertinentes à evangelização na África, sendo que orações e louvores revigoram as forças dos missionários.

Causou profunda consternação na comunidade internacional, especialmente nos países de língua portuguesa, o falecimento dia 22 de setembro de 2011, de Aristides Pereira, aos 87 anos de idade: ele estava internado em Coimbra (Portugal) desde o começo de agosto de 2011, e sofreu complicações pós-cirúrgicas, que se agravaram por sua situação de diabético.

Realizou-se em Brasília (Brasil), de 16 a 25/04/10, no Centro de Convenções Ulysses Guimarães, a 4ª Feira Internacional de Artesanato, dentro das comemorações dos 50 anos da capital brasileira (21/04/10) e com o tema “Brasília, Capital de todos os povos”.

Cabo Verde recebeu, a partir de 03/05/10, na cidade de Praia, a III Semana Cultural da CPLP. A iniciativa foi das Embaixadas de Portugal, Angola, Brasil e do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros de Cabo Verde, contando ainda com a parceria do Instituto Internacional de Língua Portuguesa., iniciativa que contou com um vasto programa, da poesia, à música, passando pelo cinema e também conferências.
Cape Verde has received as of 03/05/10 in the city of Praia, the III Cultural Week of the CPLP. The initiative was the Embassy of Portugal, Angola, Brazil and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cape Verde, and shall have the partnership of the International Portuguese Language Institute., An initiative which had an extensive program of poetry, music, passing through cinema and conferences as well.

A imprensa cabo-verdiana afirma que Preta Gil “é hoje é uma referência da música brasileira, a nível mundial”, com trabalhos discográficos no mercado e projetos em andamento.
The actress and singer brazilian, Preta Gil, was in Cabo Verde for some presentations. She arrived on 29.8.2008 being very well received. The press says that Cape Verdean Preta Gil is today is a benchmark of Brazilian music worldwide, with discography works in the market and ongoing projects.

UFPA: BRASIL E CABO VERDE TÊM CONVÊNIOS DE COOPERAÇÃO

No dia 23/09/09, ocorreu o lançamento da Cátedra Brasil-África, no Centro de Convenções da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA). Na ocasião, também foi assinado o Convênio de Cooperação Internacional com a Universidade de Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), com a presença de seu reitor Antonio Correia da Silva. Foram várias atividades, entre as quais a mesa-redonda “África na Sociedade Global: Tendências e Perspectivas”.

O Embaixador de Cabo Verde em Angola, Domingos Mascarenhas, em declarações feitas no dia 3 de julho de 2009, disse que são excelentes as relações bilaterais entre Angola e o seu pais.
The Ambassador of Cabo Verde to Angola, Domingos Mascarenhas, in remarks made on July 3, 2009, said that the excellent bilateral relations between Angola and their parents.
O diplomata fez este pronunciamento aos órgãos de imprensa depois do encontro que manteve com a governadora da província de Luanda, Francisca do Espírito Santo e com o escritor Cabo-Verdiano, Germano Almeida.
The diplomat was speaking to the press after the meeting he had with the governor of Luanda, Francisca do Espirito Santo and the Cabo-Verdean writer Germano Almeida.
Domingos Mascarenhas afirmou que as relações bilaterais entre os dois países abrangem vários domínios e com resultados muito palpáveis, destacando a cooperação estratégia no setor de combustíveis.

Disse o diplomata: “Para as autoridades políticas e para os operadores comerciais, educacionais e culturais de Cabo Verde, o Ceará passou a ser uma referência internacional.”
Transcribed part of one of the speeches of the Ambassador of Cabo Verde in Brazil, Daniel Pereira, on trade relations with the Ceará (state Brasil"). Said the diplomat: "To the political authorities and traders, educational and cultural needs of Cabo Verde, Ceara has become an international benchmark."
“ Trata-se de algo mais do que as relações Brasil-Cabo Verde, caldeada por uma cooperação exemplar, por uma história de aproximações e por uma convergência de interesses e princípios nos foros mundiais. Trata-se de uma relação atípica (verdadeiro paradigma de diplomacia sub-nacional, mas de relação externa) entre o Estado do Ceará e a República de Cabo Verde.”
"This is something more than the relations between Brazil and Cabo Verde, drained by an exemplary cooperation, by a history of approaches and a convergence of interests and principles in the world forums. This is an atypical relationship (true paradigm of sub-national diplomacy, but external relations) between the State of Ceará and the Republic of Cabo Verde”.
