DOHA

Os países Árabes e Sul-Americanos se comprometeram com a cooperação na área de energia, segundo documento da Segunda Cúpula América do Sul-Países Árabes, que aconteceu nos dias 31 de março e 01 de abril de 2009, em Doha, no CATAR.

The Arab and South-American nations committed themselves to cooperation in the energy, the second document of the Second Summit of South American and Arab Countries, which was held on March 31 and 01-Apr 2009 in Doha, Qatar.

Pelo documento, os dois blocos se propõem a criar “mecanismos de cooperação e troca de informações nas áreas de petróleo, gás natural e outras fontes de energia”.

The document, the two blocks are meant to create “mechanisms of cooperation and exchange of information in the areas of oil, natural gas and other energy sources”.

O setor é especialmente importante para as duas regiões. Boa parte dos países árabes é grande produtora de petróleo e gás e, na América do Sul, além dos combustíveis fósseis há, principalmente no Brasil, uma grande indústria de combustíveis renováveis.

The sector is particularly important for the two regions. Much of the Arab countries is a major producer of oil and gas in South America, in addition to fossil fuels there is, especially in Brazil, a major industry of renewable fuels.

Depois deste encontro internacional no Catar, o Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros dos Emirados Árabes Unidos, esteve no Brasil (outubro/09), com uma comitiva de empresários, mantendo encontros, com o Ministro Celso Amorim em Brasília, e com os governadores do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo.

After this international meeting in Qatar, Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of United Arab Emirates, was in Brazil (outubro/09) with a delegation of businessmen, holding meetings with the Minister Celso Amorim in Brasilia, and with the governors of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
