Como Ministra-Chefe da Casa Civil do Governo do Brasil, Dilma Rousseff, ao lado de outras autoridades, esteve no dia 10 de novembro de 2009, em Niterói (Brasil), para a cerimônia de lançamento ao mar da embarcação AHTS SKANDI IPANEMA, encomendada pelo armador Norskan Offshore, do grupo DOF, da Noruega.
As Minister-Chief of Staff of the Government of Brazil, Rousseff, along with other officials, was on November 10, 2009, in Niteroi (Brazil) for the launching ceremony of the AHTS vessel Sea SKANDIA IPANEMA commissioned shipowner Norskan Offshore Group DOF, Norway.
“Este é um momento histórico para o Brasil e para o Estado do Rio de Janeiro. É muito importante para o país ter autonomia para construir suas próprias embarcações, o que gera empregos e aumenta ainda mais o índice de investimentos na região”, afirmou Dilma Rousseff, condecorada a madrinha da embarcação.
“This is a historic moment for Brazil and for the State of Rio de Janeiro. It is very important to the country be free to build their own boats, which creates jobs and further increases the rate of investment in the region”, said Rousseff, awarded the godmother of the craft.
A madrinha agora é Presidenta do Brasil, já que foi eleita no segundo turno, e a posse será no dia primeiro do mês de janeiro de 2011.

O Ministro da Ciência e Tecnologia, do Brasil, Sergio Rezende, e a Ministra de Pesquisa e Ensino Superior da Noruega, Tora Aasland, assinaram, dia 31/3/08, em Brasília, um Acordo de Cooperação Científica entre os dois países em ciência e tecnologia.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Brazil, Sergio Rezende, and Minister of Research and Higher Education Norway, Tora Aasland, signed days 31/3/08, in Brasilia, a Scientific Cooperation Agreement between the two countries in science and technology.
Segundo o Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia brasileiro, a parceria tem como objetivo estimular o intercâmbio de informações e oportunidades para pesquisadores, estudantes e professores. Além disso, está prevista a organização conjunta de eventos como seminários sobre políticas e sistemas de pesquisas.

A Senadora e ex-ministra brasileira do Meio Ambiente Marina Silva recebeu em 2009, em Oslo, o Prêmio Sophie de Meio Ambiente, por seu compromisso com a defesa da Amazônia. O prêmio foi entregue pelo ministro do Meio ambiente da Noruega, Erik Solheim, na cerimônia que também contou com a presença de Nina Drange, presidente da Fundação Sophie, instituição que fundou o prêmio em 1997, criado pelo célebre escritor norueguês Jostein Gaarder e sua esposa, Siri Dannevig.
The former Brazilian Minister of Environment Marina Silva received in 2009 in Oslo, the Sophie Prize for the Environment, for their commitment to the defense of the Amazon. The award was presented by the Minister of Environment of Norway, Erik Solheim, the ceremony also was attended by Nina Drange, president of the Sophie, an institution that founded the prize in 1997, built by the famous Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder and his wife, Siri Dannevigi.

Os eventos contaram com a participação de representantes de empresas norueguesas e teve como tema: “Revolução Industrial, Econômica, Ambiental, Social e Política na Pós-Crise Mundial”.

Falou sobre NHO, principal confederação das empresas na Noruega, com mais de 19.000 membros de empresas das indústrias manufatureiras, serviços e artigos, empregando um total de 500.000 pessoas, que representam 40% da criação de valor no setor privado.
He spoke of NHO, the main confederation of companies in Norway, with more than 19,000 member companies of manufacturing industries, services and articles, employing a total of 500,000 people, representing 40% of value creation in the private sector.
Elsbeth ressaltou a razão pela qual a NHO ter seu compromisso no Brasil e a importância do país para as empresas norueguesas, sendo que os dois países têm recursos naturais, em particular na produção do petróleo e do gás em alto mar.
Elsbeth said the reason the NHO have their commitment to Brazil and the importance of the country for Norwegian companies, and the two countries have natural resources, particularly in oil and gas at sea.

O Vice- Ministro de Defesa da NORUEGA, Sr. Espen Barth Eide (foto), esteve no Brasil de 08 a 10/02/09. O objetivo da visita foi tratar de assuntos de interesses comuns entre Brasil e Noruega relacionados à defesa e segurança, ONU - operações de manutenção da Paz, Clima e o Ártico.
The Vice-Minister of Defense of Norway, Mr. Espen Barth Eide (photo), visited Brazil from 08 to 10/02/09. The visit aimed to address issues of common interests between Norway and Brazil-related defense and security, UN - maintenance of Peace, Climate and the Arctic.
A visita incluiu reuniões e outras atividades em Brasília, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo. Depois o Sr. Espen seguiu para Santiago, no Chile.
The visit included reunited ions and other activities in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. After Mr. Espen went to Santiago, Chile.

O Navio-Escola da Marinha do Brasil (U-27) (imagem acima) faz anualmente uma viagem de instrução ao redor do globo, tendo como principal objetivo a complementação do ensino, com ênfase na experiência prática e conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos na Escola Naval.
The Ship-School Navy of Brazil (U-27) (pictured above) is an annual educational trip around the globe, with the primary goal of completion of education, with emphasis on practical experience and theoretical knowledge acquired at the Naval Academy.
Ao término da Viagem de Instrução, os GM serão nomeados Segundo-Tenentes e movimentados para as Organizações Militares da Marinha onde os pertencentes ao Corpo da Armada embarcarão nos navios sediados nos Distritos Navais, os Oficiais Fuzileiros Navais serão designados para os diversos Batalhões do Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais e os Oficiais Intendentes poderão servir a bordo como também em Organizações da Marinha em terra.

PRINCESA DA NORUEGA RADICADA NO BRASIL HÁ MEIO SÉCULO
Sua Alteza a Princesa Ragnhild Alexandra (foto), da Família Real da NORUEGA, vive no Brasil desde os anos 50, quando se casou com o empresário também norueguês Erling Lorentzen, atualmente Presidente do Conselho de Administração da empresa ARACRUZ Celulose, sediada no estado do Espírito Santo.
Her Highness Princess Ragnhild Alexandra (pictured), the Royal Family of Norway, has lived in Brazil since the '50s, when she married the Norwegian businessman Erling Lorentzen also currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aracruz Celulose company, based in the state of the Espírito Santo (Holy Spirit).

SOCIAL DIALOGUE BRAZIL - NORWAY
No dia 22 de outubro de 2009, foi realizado o I Fórum Bilateral de Diálogo Social Brasil-NORUEGA. O evento, promovido pela Secretaria-Geral da Presidência da República, em Brasília, teve como objetivo promover o diálogo social para avançar na definição de iniciativas tripartites entre os dois países que contribuam para o desenvolvimento sustentável e social.
On October 22, 2009, was held the First Forum Bilateral Social Dialogue Brazil-NORWAY. The event, sponsored by the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, in Brasilia, aimed to promote social dialogue to advance the definition of a tripartite initiative between the two countries that contribute to sustainable social development.
Participaram do evento dirigentes sindicais, representantes de entidades empresariais, sindicais e governamentais dos dois países. Da Noruega vieram também representantes governamentais e da Confederação das Indústrias.
Participants included union leaders, representatives of business entities, government and union of the two countries. From Norway came also government representatives and the Confederation of Industries.
Foram discutidos conceitos e visões e apresentados casos de diálogo social em empresas dos dois países.
Concepts were discussed and views presented and cases of social dialogue in companies of both countries.
