A Convenção Batista Brasileira - CBB, através de sua Junta de Missões Mundiais-JMM, mantém em vários países o PEPE-Programa de Educação Pré-Escolar, projeto sócio-educativo voltado para as crianças, e que no ano de 2011 teve uma atuação proeminente em Moçambique, despertando nos participantes um sentimento de autoestima e de valorização pessoal, conforme declara a missionária Sirley Sampaio da Silva, Coordenadora Pedagógica do PEPE no país.

O governo de Moçambique está oferecendo uma área de 6 milhões de hectares equivalente a três Sergipes para que agricultores brasileiros plantem soja, algodão e milho no norte do país.
A primeira leva de 40 agricultores parte de Mato Grosso rumo a Moçambique - a próxima fronteira agrícola do Brasil - no mês que vem (setembro de 2011).
As terras são oferecidas em regime de concessão. Os brasileiros podem usá-las por 50 anos, renováveis por outros 50, mediante um imposto módico anual de 37,50 meticais (R$ 21,00) por hectare.
"Moçambique é um Mato Grosso no meio da África, com terra de graça, sem tanto impedimento ambiental e frete muito mais barato para a China", diz Carlos Ernesto Augustin, Presidente da Associação Mato-Grossense dos Produtores de Algodão (AMPA). "Hoje, além de a terra ser caríssima em Mato Grosso, é impossível obter licença ambiental para desmate e limpeza de área.
Augustin organizou a missão de agricultores para ir ao país em setembro ver as terras. Um consultor da Ampa já está no país contatando autoridades e preparando a viagem. "Quem vai tomar conta da África? Chinês, europeu ou americano? O brasileiro, que tem conhecimento do cerrado", diz.
"Os agricultores brasileiros têm experiência acumulada que é muito bem-vinda. Queremos repetir em Moçambique o que eles fizeram no cerrado 30 anos atrás", afirma o Ministro da Agricultura de Moçambique, José Pacheco.

The Mozambique government is offering an area of 6 million hectares equivalent to Three Sergipe for Brazilian farmers to plant soybeans, cotton and corn in the north.
The first batch of 40 farmers part of Mato Grosso toward Mozambique - the next frontier of Brazil farm - next month (September 2011).
The lands are offered on a concession basis. Brazilians can use them for 50 years, renewable for another 50, by a modest annual tax meticais 37.50 ($ 21.00) per hectare.
"Mozambique is a Mato Grosso in the middle of Africa, land of grace, without hindrance both environmental and freight much cheaper for China," says Carlos Ernesto Augustin, president of the Mato Grosso Association of Cotton Producers (AMPA). "Today, besides being expensive land in Mato Grosso, it is impossible to obtain environmental permits for clearing and cleaning area.
Augustin farmers organized the mission to go to the country in September to see the Land. A consultant is already AMPA contacting authorities in the country and preparing the trip. "Who will take care of Africa: Chinese, European or American? The Brazilian, who has knowledge of the cerrade," he says.
"Brazilian farmers have accumulated experience that is very welcome. We want to repeat in Mozambique what they did 30 years ago in the cerrade," said Minister of Agriculture of Mozambique, Jose Pacheco.

Os 10 anos do PEPE (Programa de Educação Pré-Escolar), programa sócio-educativo da Convenção Batista Brasileira, em Moçambique foram comemorados no dia 27 de julho de 2011 com a celebração de um culto missionário na Assembleia Convencional de Moçambique: cerca de 20 missionários-educadores e todo o Conselho Nacional do programa estiveram presentes, sendo que vários líderes sentiram-se desafiados a implantar uma unidade do PEPE em suas igrejas.
The 10 year PEPE Program (Preschool Education), social-educational program of the Brazilian Baptist Convention, were celebrated in Mozambique on 27 July 2011 with the signing of a conventional missions service in the Assembly of Mozambique, about 20 missionaries and educators throughout the National Council attended the program, with several leaders felt challenged to deploy a unit of PEPE in their churches.
Esse foi o primeiro PEPE, a ser implantado fora do Brasil: a inauguração ocorreu em julho de 2001, na Segunda Igreja Batista da Beira, quando a coordenadora internacional do PEPE, Terezinha Candieiro, ainda estava em Moçambique.

O Presidente do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), do Brasil, Ministro Ricardo Lewandowski, recebeu no dia 03 de outubro de 2010, na sede do Tribunal, um grupo de 73 observadores internacionais que estiveram em Brasília acompanhando o processo eleitoral e, também, assinando acordos de cooperação na área de Justiça Eleitoral: eram visitantes provenientes de cerca de 30 países, principalmente da África e América Latina.

Afirmou textualmente o Presidente, em fala que foi divulgada também pela página do Palácio do Planalto na internet:
On his radio program “BREAKFAST WITH THE PRESIDENT”, the day 27/07/2010 The President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (photo), of Brazil, said there was a debt of Brazil and Africa that will never be paid in cash. Literally said the president, in speech that was also released by the page from the Presidential Palace on the Internet:
“É importante a gente nunca esquecer que nós ficamos 380 anos praticando escravidão neste país. O Brasil foi o último país do mundo a abolir a escravidão. Acho que nós temos uma dívida enorme com o continente africano, com o povo africano. É uma dívida que a gente nunca vai poder pagar em dinheiro. A gente vai poder pagar em solidariedade, em ajuda humanitária, em ajuda ao desenvolvimento, em ajuda no conhecimento científico e tecnológico que o Brasil tem a ajudar o povo da África. Assim como o Brasil, todos aqueles que conseguiram crescer colocando em prática a política, eu diria, intolerável da escravidão”.

Escravidão, também conhecida como escravismo ou escravatura, foi a forma de relação social de produção adotada, de uma forma geral no Brasil desde o período colonial (1530 -1822) até a assinatura da Lei Áurea em 13 maio de 1888, sendo que a escravidão no Brasil teve como marca o uso de escravos vindos do Continente Africano, mas é necessário ressaltar que muitos indíginas foram alvo de tal processo.

MOÇAMBIQUE tem um déficit em arroz de cerca de 340.000 toneladas anuais, que está sendo, em parte, suprido com apoio do governo do JAPÃO, quer com a oferta de alimentos quer na ajuda à produção na região sul moçambicana.

Será realizada no dia 15/03/10, às 18 horas, no Centro Cultural Brasil-MOÇAMBIQUE (CCBM), uma palestra subordinada ao tema “Os Negros e a Criação Literária no Brasil”. A palestra será orientada pela Professora, Escritora e Ensaísta brasileira, Conceição Evaristo, do Estado de Minas Gerais.
Will be held on 15/03/10, at 18 hours, at the Cultural Center Brazil-MOZAMBIQUE (CCBM), a lecture entitled “The Black and Literary Creation in Brazil.” The lecture will be guided by Professor, Writer and Essayist Brazilian, Conceição Evaristo, the State of Minas Gerais.
O tema a abordar é aliciante e vai permitir um melhor conhecimento sobre a afro-brasilidade literária, pouco divulgada em Moçambique.
The issue to be addressed is exciting and will allow a better understanding of the african-Brazilianness literary, little known in Mozambique.
Conceição Evaristo é Mestre em Literatura Brasileira pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro e é Doutorada em Literatura Comparada pela Universidade Federal Fluminense, ambas situadas em seu país.
Conceição Evaristo is Master in Brazilian Literature from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and a PhD in Comparative Literature from the Universidade Federal Fluminense, both located in your country.
Conceição Evaristo encontra-se em Maputo, a convite do Centro Cultural Franco Moçambicano e participou numa mesa redonda sobre o 8 de Março, Dia Internacional da Mulher, juntamente com a escritora moçambicana Paulina Chiziane.

Paulina Chiziane iniciou a sua atividade literária em 1984, com contos publicados na imprensa moçambicana. Com o seu primeiro livro, Balada de Amor ao Vento, editado em 1990, tornou-se a primeira mulher moçambicana a publicar um romance.
Paulina Chiziane began his literary activity in 1984, with stories published in the Mozambican press. With his first book, Love Ballad of the Wind, published in 1990, became the first Mozambican woman to publish a novel.

Um programa de intercâmbio entre jornalistas dos países de língua portuguesa vai ser desenvolvido neste ano de 2010, nas cidades de Porto Seguro e Salvador na Bahia, São Paulo e Porto Alegre (BRASIL), Maputo (MOÇAMBIQUE) e em uma cidade de Angola.
An exchange program for journalists from the Portuguese-speaking countries will be developed in 2010, the cities of Porto Seguro and Salvador in Bahia, Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre (Brazil), Maputo (Mozambique) and one city of Angola.
Assim, de acordo com o programa, Porto Seguro acolherá, de 19 a 25 de Abril, a Feira Jornalística e Literária, São Paulo, de 26 a 30 de Abril, o Seminário Internacional de Economia; Maputo, de 3 a 5 de Maio, a Conferência sobre Liberdade de Imprensa; e Porto Alegre, de 16 a 21 de Agosto, o Congresso Internacional de Direitos Autorais.
