O governo do Brasil, através do Blog do Planalto, informa que a partir do próximo dia 01/08/10, os brasileiros que residem no exterior poderão sacar os recursos de suas contas no Fundo de Garantia por Tempo de Serviço (FGTS), como resultado do convênio assinado entre o ministro Celso Amorim (Relações Exteriores) e a presidente da Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), Maria Fernanda Ramos Coelho.
The government of Brazil, through the Blog Plateau, announced that starting next days 01/08/10, Brazilians residing abroad may withdraw the funds from their accounts in the Guarantee Fund for Length of Service (FGTS) as result of the agreement signed between the Minister Celso Amorim (Foreign Relations) and President of Caixa Economica Federal (CEF), Maria Fernanda Ramos Coelho.
Para ter os recursos da conta é preciso que o brasileiro se enquadre nas regras estabelecidas para saques do FGTS. A solicitação pode ser feita numa representação consular do Brasil que, neste primeiro momento, está restrita apenas para os residentes no Japão, mas que será ampliada a outros países.

A intenção é facilitar, por meio da educação, a integração dos imigrantes brasileiros radicados no território japonês ou o retorno destes brasileiros ao sistema de ensino de seu país em caso de uma eventual volta ao Brasil.
