Entre os dias 20 a 25 de outubro de 2007, o Navio-Escola Brasil esteve atracado em Civitavecchia, na Itália dentro do percurso de sua XXI viagem de instrução. O Comandante visitou o Embaixador do Brasil na Itália, Adhemar Gabriel Bahadian, presenteando-o com uma estatueta do Senhor dos Navegantes. No dia 24 de outubro, o Embaixador ofereceu um “Vinho de Honra”, seguido de um almoço para membros da tripulação, ocasião em que pôde apresentar as instalações da nossa Embaixada naquele país.

At the invitation of President of the Institute of Culture Brazil Italy Europe, Journalist Pietro Gallina, a group of graffiti artists and Bahia formed by people linked to street art, was in Europe in May 2008 and brought back to Brazil on luggage innovations, knowledge and much experience.
O roteiro incluiu uma agenda de encontros, palestras e realização de pinturas (grafites) em Paris e Marseille (FRANÇA), Linburg e Frankfurt (ALEMANHA), Barcelona (ESPANHA) e Roma (ITÁLIA). Para nós os brasileiros e, especialmente, para os futuros oficiais da Marinha do Brasil e tripulantes do navio-escola, foi uma elevada honra aportar nestes países.

A Embaixada do Brasil em Roma promove uma atividade que teve sua terceira edição em 2008 e é exemplo de êxito entre as várias iniciativas aprovadas pelo Departamento Cultural do Ministério das Relações Exteriores do Brasil: Programa “Música Brasileira na Sala Palestrina”.
The Embassy of Brazil in Rome promotes an activity that had its third edition in 2008 and is an example of success among the several measures taken by the Cultural Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil: Programa “Música Brasileira cafe in Palestrina”.
O programa já contou com a participação de vários concertistas brasileiros, com a orientação do Maestro brasileiro Sílvio Barbato, Regente da Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Silvio Barbato faleceu no dia 31/05/09, no desastre da Air France (Rio-Paris). Foi sem dúvida uma perda irreparável para a cultura não apenas do Brasil, mas também internacional. Nossas homenagens póstumas.
The program has had the participation of several concerts brazilians, with the guidance of Brazilian Maestro Silvio Barbato, Ruler of the symphonic orchestra of the Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro. Silvio Barbato died on 31/05/09, in the crash of Air France (Paris-Rio). It was certainly an irreparable loss for the culture not only in Brazil but also internationally. Our posthumously.

O instrumento bilateral foi chancelado pelos ministros da Cultura de ambos os países, Juca Ferreira e Sandro Bondi, em solenidade na sede do Ministério da Cultura da Itália (Via del Collegio Romano, 27).

The bilateral instrument was made chancellor by the Ministers of Culture of both countries, Juca Ferreira e Sandro Bondi, a ceremony at the Ministry of Culture of Italy (Via del Collegio Romano, 27).
O “Festival de Roma” teve o Brasil como foco. “Eu pedi ao Papa que nos seus pronunciamentos ele fale da crise econômica, pois, se todo o domingo o papa der um conselhozinho, quem sabe a gente encontra mais facilidade para resolver o problema”, palavras do Presidente do Brasil.
“I asked the Pope to in his speeches he talks about the economic crisis, because if all Sunday the Pope gives a little advice, maybe we will find it easier to solve the problem”, asked the President of Brazil.

Entre os dias 14 e 19/09/09, professores de italiano discutiram diversos aspectos do idioma e a implantação do seu ensino na UFPA - Universidade Federal do Pará (Brasil). Foi durante a realização simultânea de três conclaves: XIII Congresso da Associação Brasileira de Professores de Italiano (ABPI), o VII Encontro Internacional de Estudos Italianos e a II Jornada de Italianística da América Latina.
Between 14 and 19/09/09, Italian teachers discussed various aspects of language and implementation of teaching in UFPA - Federal University of Pará (Brazil). It was during the simultaneous performance of three conclaves: XIII Congress of the Brazilian Association of Teachers of Italian (ABPI), the Seventh International Meeting of Italian Studies and the second seminar of Italianística Latin America.
Em comum, a discussão sobre “A presença italiana no Brasil: do erudito ao popular” envolvendo, também, debates sobre a implantação do ensino do idioma italiano e de uma cátedra de Italianística na UFPA.

Os missionários Pastor Fernando e Ione Pasi (foto acima), enviados no final de 2007 pelas Igrejas Batistas do Brasil para a cidade de Milão (ITÁLIA), através da Junta de Missões Mundiais da Convenção Batista Brasileira, já estão praticamente adaptados ao novo campo. O Pastor Fernando, inclusive, está dirigindo os cultos e pregando em italiano e em português na Igreja Evangélica Batista em Milão.
Missionaries Pastor Fernando and Ione Pasi (pictured above), sent in late 2007 by the Baptist Churches from Brazil to Milan (Italia), through the Board of World Missions of the Brazilian Baptist Convention, are practically adapted to the new field. Pastor Fernando, also, is directing the worship and preaching in Italian and Portuguese Evangelical Baptist Church in Milan.
Entre as atividades desenvolvidas na igreja destacam-se as reuniões nos lares. Segundo o missionário, os grupos bíblicos estão surtindo um bom efeito na comunidade local, contando com a presença de alguns italianos não-evangélicos.
Among the activities developed in the church there are the meetings in homes. According to the missionary, the Bible groups are having a good effect on the local community, with the presence of some Italian non-evangelicals.

O Pastor brasileiro João Caio (foto com a esposa Astrid), que ministra na Itália, foi convidado para falar sobre “crise financeira mundial”, em um encontro realizado na Universidade de Treviso, e lá compareceu na data programada, 05/05/09, e fez suas explanações ao lado de outros 23 conferencistas, de diferentes segmentos comunitários, todos professores universitários, não apenas de Treviso, mas de Pádova e Údine, principalmente.
Pastor brazilian John Caio (pictured with his wife Astrid), who ministers in Italy, was invited to speak about “financial crisis of world” at a meeting held at the University of Treviso, and there appeared on the scheduled date, 05/05/09, and made their explanations along with 23 other speakers from different community segments, all professors, not only of Treviso, Padova and but Udine, mainly.
O Pastor João Caio, ao encerrar a palestra, não deixou de dizer que qualquer crise somente será resolvida quando o coração do homem retornar a Deus através de Jesus Cristo. Uma grande experiência, não apenas para o Pastor, mas para o casal, que longe de sua terra, mas consciente de sua responsabilidade, e submetendo-se ao senhorio de Jesus Cristo, está perfeitamente integrado ao conteúdo de Atos 9:15.
Pastor John Caio, in his closing speech, did not fail to say that any crisis will be resolved only when the man's heart back to God through Jesus Christ. A great experience, not only to the Pastor, but for the couple, who away from their homes, but aware of its responsibility, and submitting to the lordship of Jesus Christ is fully integrated with the content of Acts 9:15.

No mês de outubro o Pastor Lauro Mandira, Gerente de Missões Mundiais, esteve na ITÁLIA (e em Portugal) para reunião com lideranças batistas daqueles países, contando com a companhia do Pastor Sócrates Oliveira de Souza, Diretor Executivo (interino) de Missões Mundiais.
In October, Pastor Lauro Mandira, Manager of World Mission, was in ITALY (and Portugal) to meet with baptist leaders of those countries, with the company Pastor Socrates Oliveira de Souza, Executive Director (interim) of World Missions.

Não faltaram momentos de confraternização.
After Pastor Lauro Mandira, alone, went to Africa to visit missionaries in Brazil working in the field northwest of that continent (Senegal and Guinea-Bissau), not only to follow the work, but to support them in person supply of potential needs. There were also moments of fellowship.
