As part of the events of the French Year in Brazil, the Museum of Art Brazilian of the Foundation Armando Alvares Penteado (MAB-FAAP), Sao Paulo (Brazil), housed, from August 24 to November 1 and 2009, about one hundred pieces of theatrical costumes and eighty sketches, in exhibition with entry open to the public.

O ano de 2006 foi consagrado à presença do Brasil na FRANÇA, ocasião em que centenas de eventos musicais, literários e culturais, foram promovidos pelo Ministério da Cultura do Brasil, compartilhados com as autoridades do país europeu, no sentido de apresentar ao publico francês a diversidade artística do país tropical “a terra de Santa Cruz, onde em se plantando tudo dá”.
The year 2006 has been the presence of Brazil in France, during which hundreds of musical, literary and cultural, have been promoted by the Ministry of Culture of Brazil, shared with the authorities in the European country in order to present to the French public artistic diversity of the tropical country "the land of Santa Cruz, where everything goes into being planted."
Importante para a formação cultural das artes plásticas no Brasil foi a chegada de artistas franceses em 1816 para atender as necessidades de Dom João VI. Fundou-se então em 12 de agosto daquele ano a primeira Escola Real de Ciências, Artes e Ofícios Brasil, sendo que a maior dimensão dessa presença se deu pelo talento de Jean Baptiste Debret (1768-1848), um verdadeiro cronista social armado com pincéis com os quais registrou em imagens vivas as mais diversas cenas da vida cotidiana do Brasil colonial.

Brasilia, capital of Brazil, turning 50 on 21/04/10 and France have also signed this Golden Jubilee, with the region of Normandy organizing a Photography Exhibit by creating a dialogue between Brazil and the capital city of Le Havre, both declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
A mostra, intitulada Retratos de Cidades: Brasília/Le Havre, foi realizada na Casa da Cultura de Le Havre (prédio concebido por Oscar Niemeyer) e reuniu muitas e belas imagens feitas por fotógrafos franceses e brasileiros, como Lucien Hervé e Caio Reisenwitz.

At the invitation of President of the Institute of Culture Brazil Italy Europe, Journalist Pietro Gallina, a group of graffiti artists and Bahia formed by people linked to street art, was in Europe in May 2008 and brought back to Brazil on luggage innovations, knowledge and much experience.
O roteiro incluiu uma agenda de encontros, palestras e realização de pinturas (grafites) em Paris e Marseille (FRANÇA), Linburg e Frankfurt (ALEMANHA), Barcelona (ESPANHA) e Roma (ITÁLIA). O intercâmbio serviu também para divulgação do Projeto Grafita, da Prefeitura Municipal do Salvador, considerado pioneiro no Brasil.

2009 - ANO DA FRANÇA NO BRASIL. Uma série de eventos lembra e celebra parcerias históricas que muito têm contribuído para a especialização de pesquisadores brasileiros e franceses. Milhares de estudantes brasileiros já estudaram em instituições de ensino superior na França para desenvolver teses de mestrado e doutorado nas diversas áreas do conhecimento. Atualmente, três mil brasileiros estão estudando ou realizando pesquisas em instituições francesas. Também, é grande o número de franceses estudando no Brasil.
2009 - YEAR OF FRANCE IN BRAZIL. A series of events recalls and celebrates historic partnerships that have greatly contributed to the specialization of Brazilian and French. Thousands of Brazilian students have studied in institutions of higher education in France to develop Master's and PhD in various areas of knowledge. Currently, three thousand Brazilians are studying or doing research in French institutions. Also, a large number of French studying in Brazil.
A França sempre foi uma referência importante para o desenvolvimento de muitas áreas relacionadas à ciência e saúde pública do Brasil. Um dos exemplos mais importantes é a fundação do Instituto Pasteur, em São Paulo, em 1903. O prédio histórico da Avenida Paulista foi uma das unidades internacionais inspiradas na Instituição criada pelo famoso pesquisador francês que descobriu a vacina anti-rábica.
Ainda no início do século 20, o médico brasileiro Oswaldo Cruz se baseou na lei francesa de proteção à saúde pública para regulamentar os serviços sanitários no Rio de Janeiro, então capital do Brasil. O tempo passou e a relação entre os dois países evoluiu para um intercâmbio técnico e científico de alto nível com muitas parcerias e acordos de cooperação, principalmente para a pesquisa acadêmica.

The Colloquium on Cooperation Franco-Brazilian Amazon was performed between the 13th and August 14th, 2009 at the Goeldi Museum (Belém). The event aimed to disseminate the results of the major projects undertaken in the framework of Franco-Brazilian Amazon over the past five years.

2009 - ANO DA FRANÇA NO BRASIL. Uma série de eventos lembra e celebra parcerias históricas que muito têm contribuído para a especialização de pesquisadores brasileiros e franceses. Milhares de estudantes brasileiros já estudaram em instituições de ensino superior na França para desenvolver teses de mestrado e doutorado nas diversas áreas do conhecimento. Atualmente, três mil brasileiros estão estudando ou realizando pesquisas em instituições francesas. Também, é grande o número de franceses estudando no Brasil.
2009 - YEAR OF FRANCE IN BRAZIL. A series of events recalls and celebrates historic partnerships that have greatly contributed to the specialization of Brazilian and French. Thousands of Brazilian students have studied in institutions of higher education in France to develop Master's and PhD in various areas of knowledge. Currently, three thousand Brazilians are studying or doing research in French institutions. Also, a large number of French studying in Brazil.
A França sempre foi uma referência importante para o desenvolvimento de muitas áreas relacionadas à ciência e saúde pública do Brasil. Um dos exemplos mais importantes é a fundação do Instituto Pasteur, em São Paulo, em 1903. O prédio histórico da Avenida Paulista foi uma das unidades internacionais inspiradas na Instituição criada pelo famoso pesquisador francês que descobriu a vacina anti-rábica.
Ainda no início do século 20, o médico brasileiro Oswaldo Cruz se baseou na lei francesa de proteção à saúde pública para regulamentar os serviços sanitários no Rio de Janeiro, então capital do Brasil. O tempo passou e a relação entre os dois países evoluiu para um intercâmbio técnico e científico de alto nível com muitas parcerias e acordos de cooperação, principalmente para a pesquisa acadêmica.
France has always been an important reference for the development of many areas related to science and public health in Brazil. One of the most important is the foundation of the Pasteur Institute in São Paulo in 1903. The historic building of Avenue Paulista was one of the units inspired by the international institution created by the famous French researcher who discovered the vaccine against rabies.
Still in the early 20th century, the Brazilian doctor Oswaldo Cruz was based on French law for protecting public health to regulate sanitation in Rio de Janeiro, then capital of Brazil. Time passed and the relationship between the two countries has evolved into a technical and scientific exchange of high level with many partnerships and cooperation agreements, mainly for academic research.

Os Freis Henri des Roziers, Xavier Plassat e Jean Raguenes, da Comissão Pastoral da Terra, receberam homenagem pela ação social que desenvolvem em território brasileiro, em especial pela luta contra o trabalho escravo e a violência em áreas rurais, como parte do Ano da FRANÇA no Brasil, isso no final de 2009. Inúmeras entidades brasileiras, em especial de defesa dos direitos humanos e valorização da vida, prestigiaram as homenagens.

Ex-Professor na FRANÇA e, também, Ex-Presidente do Brasil entre 1995 e 2002, Fernando Henrique Cardoso foi homenageado pela Câmara de Comércio França-Brasil. Recebeu a sétima edição do prêmio PERSONALIDADE FRANÇA-BRASIL, destinado a profissionais de reconhecimento público, brasileiros ou franceses, que tenham contribuído para as relações entre os dois países. “Na minha geração, a influência francesa era decisiva. Já estudei e fui professor na França e tenho uma ligação variada com o país. Prêmio bom quando é dado por amigos para amigos que crêem uns nos outros”, agradeceu Fernando Henrique Cardoso, ao lado de Michel Mura, presidente da Câmara de Comércio França-Brasil (25/02/10).

AMAZON: COOPERATION FRANCO-BRAZILIAN
Cerca de 80 especialistas, pesquisadores, técnicos, universitários e representantes amazônicos e do governo brasileiro reuniram-se dias 13 e 14/09/09 no Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi para apresentar às autoridades locais e federais, e debater entre os participantes, resultados dos estudos em andamento ou recentemente concluídos no contexto da cooperação franco-brasileira na Amazônia: destacaram-se os ganhos de experiência e as lições extraídas.
Some 80 experts, researchers, professionals, academics and representatives of the Amazon and the Brazilian government met on 13 and 14/09/09 in the Goeldi Museum to present the local and federal authorities, and debate among participants, results of studies ongoing or recently completed in the context of cooperation between France and Brazil in the Amazon: stood out, gains experience and lessons learned.
Dentre outros destaques, sobressairam-se ganhos de experiência e lições extraídas e as recomendações gerais foram: dar continuidade à troca de experiências, principalmente através de novos encontros como esse (um seminário de dois em dois anos) e desenvolver mais projetos em colaboração, prosseguindo os projetos em andamento e respondendo em conjunto às chamadas de propostas.
Among other highlights, the highlights were a greater experience and lessons learned and general recommendations were: to continue the exchange of experiences, primarily through new encounters like that (one seminar every two years) and develop more projects together, building ongoing projects and jointly responding to calls for proposals.

Em parceria, os Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, do Brasil e Nicolas Sarkozy (direita, da FRANÇA, estão chamando a atenção do mundo para a importância de uma maior valorização da Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) frente ao sistema econômico global, ao mesmo tempo em que pedem uma reforma no Conselho de Segurança das Nações Unidas que vise ampliar a participação e a influência dos países em desenvolvimento naquele organismo. Os dois presidentes assinaram artigo conjunto no Jornal Liberatión (França) e no Jornal Folha de São Paulo (Brasil) sobre estes temas e falam, ainda, em uma “ALIANÇA PELA MUDANÇA”.

O Navio-Escola da Marinha do Brasil (U-27) (imagem acima) faz anualmente uma viagem de instrução ao redor do globo, tendo como principal objetivo a complementação do ensino, com ênfase na experiência prática e conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos na Escola Naval.
The Ship-School Navy of Brazil (U-27) (pictured above) is an annual educational trip around the globe, with the primary goal of completion of education, with emphasis on practical experience and theoretical knowledge acquired at the Naval Academy.
Ao término da Viagem de Instrução, os GM serão nomeados Segundo-Tenentes e movimentados para as Organizações Militares da Marinha onde os pertencentes ao Corpo da Armada embarcarão nos navios sediados nos Distritos Navais, os Oficiais Fuzileiros Navais serão designados para os diversos Batalhões do Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais e os Oficiais Intendentes poderão servir a bordo como também em Organizações da Marinha em terra.
