Em 20 de julho de 2006, Dom Moysés Barbosa recebeu da Escola de Instrução Especializada, remetido via correio, um CD com doze músicas executas pela Banda da Escola, na qualidade de ex-aluno, eis que em 11 de março de 1966 concluiu no estabelecimento o Curso de Formação de Sargentos, como se vê no diploma abaixo (segunda via, pois o original, em preto e branco, datilografado, foi desgastado pelo tempo).

Quando +Dom Moysés realizou seu curso, comandava a EsIE o Coronel Tasso Villar de Aquino (na época Tenente-Coronel), que dirigiu o estabelecimento de 12 de outubro de 1964 a 10 de fevereiro de 1967 (foto abaixo), um grande militar no qual o então aluno do curso de burocratas (arquivista e datilógrafo) procurava se espelhar.

Em 30 de junho de 1943, por decreto presidencial, foi criado o então Centro de Instrução Especializada - CIE, cuja finalidade era formar especialistas para Força Expedicionária Brasileira.

Mais de 18.000 homens foram adestrados para a guerra e, nos campos da Itália, mostraram mais uma vez o valor do soldado brasileiro e com a vitória aliada, ao término da Segunda Guerra Mundial, o CIE encerrou, com brilhantismo, mais um capítulo de sua vida.

A transformação do CIE em EsIE deu-se a 21 de agosto de 1945, pelo decreto-lei nº 788, como Centro de Excelência do ensino do Exército Brasileiro, com a missão de formar, aperfeiçoar e especializar militares do Exército e de outras Forças Armadas, além de militares estrangeiros, em diversos cursos e estágios.
