No monte Palatino, em Roma, pesquisadores descobriram um altar (imagem acima) onde em épocas passadas se erguiam os palácios dos Césares.
On the Palatine Hill in Rome, researchers found an altar (above) where in former times stood the palaces of the Caesars.
O achado arqueológico data de aproximadamente 100 B.C. e tem uma inscrição bem legível: “ao deus desconhecido”.
The archaeological find is from about 100 BC and has a legible inscription: “the unknown god”.
O fato vem confirmar o relato da Biblia Sagrada, em Atos 17:22 e 23: E, estando Paulo no meio do Areópago, disse: homens atenienses, em tudo vos vejo um tanto supersticiosos; porque, passando eu e vendo os vossos santuários, achei também um altar em que estava escrito: AO DEUS DESCONHECIDO; esse, pois, que vós honrais, não o conhecendo, é o que eu vos anuncio.
That confirms the account of the Holy Bible, in Acts 17:22 and 23: Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus, said: Athenian men, in everything I see you are too superstitious, because I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD, and this, therefore, that you worship, not knowing is what I unto you.
