A armação acima é de um barco pesqueiro do primeiro Século DC, que foi retirado de uma área onde estava submerso na lama ao longo do contorno da costa do Mar da Galileia.
The frame above is from a fishing boat from the first century AD, which was taken from an area where it was submerged in mud along the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee.
Este tipo de barco, com capacidade para treze pessoas, era usado para pescarias no mar da Galiléia no tempo de Jesus: ele é semelhante ao barco que Jesus usava (Mateus 8:23, 24 e 25).
This type of boat with a capacity of thirteen persons, was used for fishing on the Sea of Galilee in Jesus time: it is similar to the boat that Jesus used (Matthew 8:23, 24 and 25).
“E, entrando ele no barco, seus discípulos o seguiram. E eis que se levantou no mar tão grande tempestade que o barco era coberto pelas ondas; ele, porém, estava dormindo. Os discípulos, pois, aproximando-se, o despertaram, dizendo: Salva-nos, Senhor, que estamos perecendo”.
“And when he came on the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm at sea so that the boat was covered by the waves, but he was asleep. The disciples, therefore, approaching, and awoke him, saying, Save us, Lord, that we perish”.
