A CAVERNA DE ADULÃO EXISTE
THE CAVE OF ADULLAM THERE
“Então, Davi se retirou dali e se escapou para a Caverna de Adulão...” “... e eram com ele uns quatrocentos homens”(I Sm 22: 1 e 2).
“So David departed from there and escaped to the Cave of Adullam...” “... and were with him about four hundred men”. (I Sam 22: 1 and 2).
Há quem diga que a Caverna de Adulão nunca existiu e com tal afirmação procura desmerecer o conteúdo da Santa Palavra de Deus, mas este lugar existe apesar de não ter atraído a arqueologia, com a mesma intensidade de outros locais.
Some say that the Cave of Adullam has never existed and such a statement seeking to belittle the substance of God's Holy Word, but this place exists although it has not attracted the archeology, with the same intensity of other places.
Saul era o rei de Israel escolhido pelo povo. Sem falar nada com Saul, o profeta Samuel, ungiu Davi como rei, declarando-o um rei, escolhido por Deus. Saul estava em fase de declínio, pois Deus lhe pesou a mão em face de sua desobediência.
Saul was the king of Israel chosen by the people. Without talking with Saul, the prophet Samuel anointed David as king, declaring him a king chosen by God. Saul was in decline phase, for God's hand has weighed him in the face of their disobedience.
Um interlocutor chegou a afirmar que Caverna de Adulão era o nome de uma cidade, que desapareceu antes do início do período neo-testamentário.
One caller even said that the Cave of Adullam was the name of a town that disappeared before the start of the neo-testamentary.
Davi estava em ascensão, já que desfrutava do prestigio, o que lhe permitiu ganhar fama e confiança de todos, principalmente depois de jogar por terra o gigante Golias. Na época as mulheres, em Israel, cantavam, sem segredos: Saul feriu os seus milhares, porém Davi os seus dez milhares" conforme se lê em I Sm 18:7 e movido por ciúmes e,também muita inveja, Saul empreendeu perseguição a Davi com a intenção de matá-lo. Temeroso, Davi se refugiou em Adulão.
David was on the rise because of the prestige it once enjoyed, which enabled him to gain fame and trust of everyone, especially after playing for the land the giant Goliath. At the time women in Israel, sang, no secrets, Saul has slain his thousands but David his ten thousands as we read in I Samuel 18:7 and driven by jealousy and envy too much, Saul undertook the persecution David with the intention of killing him. Awesome, David took refuge in Adullam.
A Caverna de Adulão (justiça do povo), está situada no Vale de Elah (Palestina) ou Vale do Carvalho (I Sm 17:2), sendo um complexo de corredores muito extenso, que ainda não foi integralmente explorado por arqueólogos.
The Cave of Adullam (justice of the people), is located in the Valley of Elah (Palestine) or Valley Oak (I Sam 17:2), and a complex of very long corridors, which have not yet been fully explored by archaeologists.
O acesso à esta caverna é feito por uma espécie de “porta” (abertura quase circular com mais de dois metros de altura), sendo que no seu interior há um acesso bem apertado que leva o explorador a uma cova pequena, através da qual uma passagem tortuosa acaba se abrindo em um espaçoso “cômodo” (uma espécie de quarto), que tem mais de 450 metros quadrados.
Access to this cave is by a kind of “door” (opening nearly round with more than two meters in height), and inside there is a tight access that leads the explorer to a small hole through which a passage tortuous opening ends in a spacious “room” (a kind of room), which has more than 450 square meters.
Há outras passagens estreitas que se ramificam e conduzem a outros quartos também grandes, alguns dos quais em níveis bem mais baixos, e com área suficiente para abrigarem nada menos que 1.000 homens, duas vezes e meia a quantidade de homens que estiveram com Davi.
There are other narrow passageways that branch off and lead to other rooms too large, some of which are in much lower levels, and with enough space to house no fewer than 1.000 men, two and a half times the amount of men who were with David.
