Em 1989, nas proximidades de Cafarnaum, foi descoberta a cidade de Betsaida, onde nasceram Pedro, Felipe e André (João. 1:44 e 12:21), onde foram encontradas, em escavações do arqueólogo Rami Arav (israelita), grandes evidências de uma indústria pesqueira, com muitas âncora e anzóis, o que está em perfeita harmonia com a narrativa contida na Biblia Sagrada.
In 1989, near Capernaum, was discovered the city of Bethsaida, where they were born Peter, Philip and Andrew (John 1:44 and 12:21), where they were found in excavations of archaeologist Rami Arava (Israel), strong evidence a fishing industry, with many hooks and anchor, which is in perfect harmony with the narrative contained in the bible.

These archaeological findings have been reported in the book by Arava CITY BY THE NORTH SHORE OF THE SEA OF GALILEE, originally published in English by Thomas Jefferson University Press in 1995.
No início de 1980 um monge beneditino, Bargil Pixner, já realizara busca pessoal por Betsaida: pesquisou as Escrituras e outros registros históricos para encontrar pistas, concluindo por determinar que um monte conhecido como et-Tell (monte) afastado do Mar da Galiléia duas milhas, era o sítio de Betsaida.
In early 1980 a Benedictine monk, Bargil Pixner, already carried out a personal search for Bethsaida: searched the scriptures and other historical records to find clues and concludes by determining that a lot known as et-Tell (mound) away from the Sea of Galilee two miles, was the site of Bethsaida.

“E chegou a Betsaida e trouxeram-lhe um cego e rogaram-lhe que o tocasse, e tomando o cego pela mão, levou-o para fora da aldeia; e cuspindo-lhe nos olhos e impondo-lhe as mãos, perguntou-lhe se via alguma coisa. E, levantando ele os olhos disse: vejo homens como árvores que andam. Depois disto, tornou a pôr-lhe as mãos sobre os olhos, e fez olhar para cima; e ele ficou restaurado, e viu cada homem claramente. E mandou-o para sua casa dizendo: Nem entres na aldeia nem o digas a ninguém na aldeia”.

“He came to Bethsaida and they bring a blind man and begged him to touch him, and took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and spitting on his eyes and placing his hands on him, asked him you saw something. And he looked up he said I see men as trees walking. After that he put his hands over his eyes and made him look up, and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. And sent him home saying, Neither go into the town nor tell anyone in the village”.
