= CULTIVANDO ESPERANÇAS =

Em meio a um mundo tão conturbado, cheio de violências, agressões ao meio ambiente, guerras e confusões de toda ordem (e no Brasil, não é diferente), nós precisamos aprender alguma coisa sobre plantio, não apenas de mudas de árvores - muito em voga nestes dias, ou de hortaliças no âmbito doméstico ou mesmo de flores nos jardins, mas também algo que, tal como os vegetais, pode ser cultivado.

Estamos falando da esperança. Sim, irmãos, em meio às atribulações do mundo atual, precisamos cultivar a esperança, pois ela nos tranquiliza, principalmente se buscarmos alguns textos da Bíblia Sagrada: e há um versículo, muito conhecido, que é um verdadeiro bálsamo para nós e diz “Aquele que sai andando e chorando enquanto semeia, voltará com júbilo, trazendo os seus molhos” (Salmo 126:6).

Há outro escrito sacro que nos acalenta, quando ficamos assustados com os noticiários dos jornais e da televisão (especialmente a TV, que nos mostra imagens estarrecedoras), que é o versículo 5 do Salmo 30: “Ao anoitecer pode vir o choro, mas a alegria vem pela manhã”.

Conforme São João 14:27, Jesus fez uma grande declaração: “Deixo-vos a paz, a minha paz vos dou, não vo-la dou como o mundo a dá; não se turbe o vosso coração, nem se atemorize”.

Vamos, irmãos, eleger Jesus como a nossa paz, o que não acaba com as nossas dificuldades, pois Ele mesmo, quando encarnado, declarou com a máxima cristalinidade: “No mundo tereis aflições mas tende bom ânimo, eu venci o mundo”, como registrado está em João 16:33.

Em que reside esta esperança, o que nos move a cultivá-la? Não há dúvida, irmãos, que o centro está em Jesus Cristo, pois Ele nos capacita para suportar os sofrimentos que esta grave situação nos impõe e quando de Sua volta, em esplendor e grande glória, tudo que existe de ruim acabará de uma vez por todas. Amém.

= CULTIVATING HOPE =

In the midst of a troubled world, full of violence, damage to the environment, war and confusion order (and Brazil is no different), we need to learn something about planting, not only of young trees - very much in vogue these days, or vegetables in home or even flowers in the gardens, but also something that, as the vegetables can be grown.

We are talking about hope. Yes, brethren, amid the tribulations of today's world, we need to cultivate hope, because it reassures us, especially if we seek some texts of the Bible, and there is a verse, well known, which is a real balm for us and says, “He that goes forth weeping while sow, will return with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves ” (Ps.126:6).

There is another sacred writing that nurtures us when we are frightened by the headlines of newspapers and television (especially television, which shows the appalling images), which is the fifth verse of Psalm 30: “In the evening you can see the tears, but the joy cometh in the morning”.

According to John 14:27, Jesus made a great statement: “I leave you peace, my peace I give unto you, do not give it to you as the world gives, not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.

Come on, brothers, to choose Jesus as our peace, which does not end our difficulties, for Himself, when incarnate, with maximum crystallinity said: “In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer I have overcome the world” as is recorded in John16:33.

Where does this hope, what moves us to cultivate it? No doubt, brethren, that the center is Jesus Christ, who enables us to endure the suffering that this imposes serious situation and when His return in great glory and splendor, all that is bad will end once and for all. Amen
