= ONDE FICA O CÉU? =

Me perguntaram certa vez “onde fica o céu”? Respondi que quando se fala em céu, a idéia que se tem é que fica para cima. Na verdade foi uma resposta simplista, e não poderia deixar de ser de outra forma, pois o céu é a morada de Deus, e não há nas Escrituras Sagradas uma referência sobre a localização do ponto-de-vista físico.

Mas mesmo a resposta simplista não encerrou a curiosidade do consulente que, conhecedor de geografia, tratou logo de questionar: “para cima para quem está no pólo norte, e para quem está no pólo sul ou na linha do equador?”.

Na verdade o que se pode afirmar com segurança é que, se não podemos dizer exatamente onde fica o céu, por se tratar de algo de natureza espiritual, é que sabemos como chegar lá.

Sim, amados ouvintes, o importante não é saber “onde fica”, mas sim “como chegar”. E Jesus Cristo é o caminho que nos conduz ao céu.

= WHERE IS HEAVEN? =

I was once asked “where is the sky?“ I replied that when it comes to heaven, the idea we have is that it is up. Actually it was a simplistic answer, and it could not be otherwise, for heaven is the abode of God, and there is the scripture reference on the location of the point of view physical.

But even the simplistic answer did not end the curiosity of the inquirer, knowledgeable of geography, soon turned to ask: “up for those at the North Pole, and who is at the south pole or the equator?”.

Actually what we can safely say is that if we can not say exactly where is heaven, because it is something spiritual in nature, do we know how to get there.

Yes, dear listeners, is not important to know “where is” but “getting”. And Jesus Christ is the path that leads to heaven.
