= ELES SÃO PESSOAS COMO NÓS =

Lendo um livro sobre missões indígenas fiquei espantado quando me deparei com uma afirmação feita por um evangelista, segundo a qual os índios não são capazes de se converter.

Os indígenas, amados irmãos, são pessoas humanas, como quaisquer outras, com sentimentos e demais atributos como nós, não indígenas, feitos à imagem e semelhança de Deus.

O que ocorre é que eles levam uma vida muito diferente dos que vivem nas cidades, por não terem tido acesso aos avanços da civilização.

Ainda bem que a afirmação do evangelista foi feita há muito tempo, muitos se dispuseram (e ainda se dispõem) a levar as Boas Novas do Evangelho à tribos e hoje já temos até igrejas obreiros indígenas e a Bíblia já está com traduções em várias línguas deles.

Louvado seja o nome do Senhor Jesus. Aleluia!

= THEY ARE PEOPLE LIKE US =

Reading a book on indigenous missions I was amazed when I came across a statement made by an evangelist, that the Indians are not able to convert.

The Indians, my brothers, they are human, like any other, with other attributes and feelings like us, non-native, made in the image and likeness of God.

What happens is that they lead a life very different from living in cities, because they have not had access to the advances of civilization.

Even though the statement of the evangelist was made long ago, many were willing (and still have) to bring the Good News of the Gospel to the tribes and now we have churches to indigenous workers and the Bible already has translated into many languages them.

Praise the name of the Lord Jesus. Halleluja!
