= FÉ E CONVICÇÃO =

Sei que alguns colegas pastores admitem na membresia irmãos procedentes de outras denominações evangélicas que praticam o batismo por imersão, sem que os mesmos tenham que passar pelo batistério da denominação batista.

É uma questão pessoal, não tenho dúvida, que respeito, porém não hesito em expor a minha opinião, na expectativa deque possa lançar luzes sobre tão delicado problema.

Como pastor batista examinarei cada caso, detalhadamente, e com espírito de amor cristão; entretanto, independentemente de decisão em contrário, tomada pela Igreja, falarei claramente de minha posição, ou seja, a admissão no rol de membros deve ser precedida de novo batismo.

Mas por que razão, exatamente, pode estar indagando um atento leitor. A resposta é simples. Entendo que a imersão simboliza a morte para a vida de pecado e um renascimento para nova vida, regenerada por Cristo no ato da conversão. Mas entendo, também, que quando o batizando se dispõe a entrar na água, nesta ou naquela denominação, está manifestando não apenas fé em Jesus Cristo, como Senhor e Salvador, mas também convicção no seu conjunto de doutrinas.

Tanto isso é verdade que quando um irmão professa sua fé, o ministro batista indaga, não apenas quanto a fé no Senhor Jesus como único e suficiente Salvador, mas também se aceita a ceia como memorial e se concorda plenamente que batismo no Espírito Santo ocorre no exato momento da conversão, não sendo, como propalam alguns evangélicos, bênção especial que se dá posteriormente à conversão.

Reflitamos sobre esta questão e procuremos, sempre, encontrar soluções que não criem embaraços, em termos denominacionais e, mais que isso, que nos deixem de consciência tranqüila diante do Senhor, principalmente nós, pastores que recebemos de Deus um ministério e do qual temos que nos desincumbir sem reprovações.

= FAITH AND CONVICTION =

I know which some colleagues shepherds admit in the members derived brothers of other evangelic denominations who practice the baptism for immersion, unless same they have to pass by the baptistery of the Baptist denomination.

It is a personal question, I have not doubt, which respect, however I do not hesitate in exposing my opinion, in the expectation deck could launch lights on so delicate problem.

Like Baptist shepherd I will examine each case, in detail, and with spirit of Christian love; meantime, independently of decision in opposite, taken for the Church, I will talk clearly about my position, in other words, the admission in the members roll must be preceded of new baptism.

But for which reason, in exact , can it be inquiring an attentive reader. The answer is simple. I understand that the immersion symbolizes the death for the life of sin and a rebirth for new life regenerated by Christ in the act of the conversion. I understand myself them, also, what when one disposes the godson to enter in the water, in this or in that denomination, it is showing you do not punish faith in Jesus Christ, like Sir and Savior, but also conviction in his set of doctrines.

So much that is true that when a brother professes his faith, the Baptist Minister inquires, you do not punish as for faith in the Sir Jesus like the only and sufficient Savior, but also if it accepts the supper like memorial and there is brought into line fully which baptism in the Holy Spirit takes place at the right moment of the conversion, when there not is, how they divulge evangelic anyone, special blessing that happens subsequently to the conversion.

Let’s think about this question and let's try, always, to find solutions that do not create embarrassments, in having denominationais and, more than that, that they stop us calm conscience before the Sir, principally we, shepherds that we receive of God a ministry and of which we have that in carrying out without disapproval.
