= JEJUANDO E ORANDO =

Tenho observado uma certa oposição, de alguns evangélicos, quando á prática do jejum, que é a abstinência total ou parcial da alimentação, em determinado(s) dia(s), em determinado(s) horário(s).

Não há que se reprovar este ou aquele crente que pratique o jejum, pois é algo fundamentado na Bíblia, tal como o é a oração.

No novo testamento vemos o jejum incluído no mesmo grau de importância da oração, quando da separação dos seus primeiros missionários. “Ora, na igreja em Antioquia havia profetas e mestres, a saber: Barnabé, Simeão, chamado Níger, Lúcio de Cirene, Manaém, colaço de Herodes o tetrarca, e Saulo. Enquanto eles ministravam perante o Senhor e jejuavam, disse o Espírito: Separai-me a Barnabé e a Saulo para a obra a que os tenho chamado. Então, depois que jejuaram, oraram e lhes impuseram as mãos, os despediram” (At 13.1-3).

A prática o jejum é pessoal. Está no interior de cada um o momento para praticá-lo. É bem possível que o jejum venha sendo utilizado como maior intensidade do que se possa imaginar, pois Jesus Cristo, fez sua regulamentação: “Quando jejuardes, não vos mostreis contristados como os hipócritas: porque eles desfiguram os seus rostos, para que os homens vejam que estão jejuando. Em verdade vos digo que já receberam a sua recompensa. Tu, porém, quando jejuares, unge a cabeça e lava o rosto, para não mostrar aos homens que estás jejuando, mas a teu Pai, que está em secreto; e teu Pai que vê em secreto, te recompensará” (Mt 6.16-18).

O conceituado Pr. David Gomes, pelo qual temos o maior respeito e admiração, afirma, com sua indiscutível autoridade, que “existe um receio de excessos e abusos, desvirtuando a prática pelo seu mau uso”. E complementa: “acreditamos que o jejum pode ser usado com grandes resultados. Já tivemos proveitosos encontros de jejum, tendo em vista interceder por enfermos da igreja e assuntos desafiadores”.

Não temos dúvida, prezados leitores, que o jejum e a oração se constituem em importantes ferramentas para o sucesso da causa do Senhor. Acima de tudo deve estar, sem dúvida, a sinceridade de propósitos.

= JEJU AND PRAYING =

I have seen some opposition, some Evangelicals, where the practice of fasting, which is the total or partial abstinence from food, in particular(s) day(s) in particular(s) time(s).

There is no need to condemn this or that believer who carries the fast because that is based on the Bible, as is the prayer.

In the New Testament we see the fast included in the same degree of importance of prayer, when the separation of its first missionaries. “In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers, namely: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, sister, Colaço of Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul. While they provided before the Lord and fasted, the Spirit said: Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called. So after we fasted, prayed and put their hands, the fire ”(Acts 13.1-3).

The practice is the fast guys. It is within each of the time to practice it. It is possible that the fast will be used as a higher intensity than you might imagine, because Jesus Christ, has its rules: “When you fast, do not you show how upset the hypocrites: for they disfigure their faces so that men see who are fasting. In truth I tell you that have already received their reward. You, however, when fast, unge your head and wash your face, not to show the men who are fasting, but to thy Father which is in secret and your Father who sees in secret, reward you”(Mt 6.16-18 ).

The worthy Pr David Gomes, which have the greatest respect and admiration, he says, with his indisputable authority, that “there is a fear of excesses and abuses, rendered the practice by its misuse”. E supplements, “believe that fasting can be used with great results. We have had useful meetings of fasting in order to intercede for patients and issues challenging the church&rdquot;.

We have no doubt, dear readers, that is fasting and prayer are important tools in the success of the cause of the Lord. Above all is without doubt the sincerity of purpose.
