= OREMOS PELO PRESIDENTE =

Li, com bastante interesse, o artigo “Os ricos também são carentes” do conceituado Pr. Ary Velloso, Publicado na edição de O JORNAL BATISTA que circulou dia 25.03.90. As colocações ali contidas chamaram-me a atenção, posto que, há tempos, eu e um colega de trabalho (Mariano, membro da Igreja Metodista) estamos orando pelo Presidente Fernando Collor, o que se dá pela manhã, quando iniciamos nossa jornada diária.

Cumpre-me parabenizar o Pr. Ary Velloso por tão feliz decisão: orar pelas pessoas que, de alguma forma, detêm as rédeas que norteiam nossa gente. E ninguém desconhece que, em nosso pais, uma grande quantidade de pessoas ainda decidem seus passos com base nas orientações emanadas daqueles que estão posicionados em pedestais mais elevados ou, de alguma forma, se deixam influenciar pelas coisas que falam ou estilos que transmitem.

Apreciaria que o Pr. Ary Velloso incluísse em sua lista de oração o nosso Presidente Fernando Collor, a fim de que o mandatário maior desta terra busque sempre em Deus a orientação para as decisões que tenha que tomar.

Não tenho o hábito de orar por personalidades destacadas e importantes. As orações que temos feito, em favor do Presidente da República decorrem do desejo que tenho - e certamente o têm todos os brasileiros - de vislumbrar, com a maior rapidez possível, a diminuição acentuada da miséria que aflora em Inúmeros pontos do território nacional. Entretanto, depois de ler o artigo a que me refiro, fui despertado para fazer a mesma coisa e, doravante, incluirei em minha relação nomes destacados, dos mais diferentes segmentos comunitários e isso, tal como o autor do artigo, sem quaisquer interesses promocionais. Até mesmo porque orarei particularmente com Deus e, se já sou proclamador da verdade bíblica (o maior prêmio, como já afirmei em artigo anterior), que mais poderia estar buscando?

Que outros evangélicos possam não apenas incluir autoridades e pessoas destacadas em suas orações mas, também, intensificar a prática de conversar com o Senhor, pois a nossa convicção cristã nos autoriza a dizer que a oração é um dos mais poderosos ferramentais de que dispomos, na missão de anunciar o Evangelho de Jesus Cristo.

I read with great interest the article “The rich are too poor” worthy of Pr Ary Velloso, Published in the edition of The Official BATISTA that circulated days 25.03.90. The placement on there called me out, since there are times, me and a coworker (Mariano, a member of the Methodist Church) we are praying for President Fernando Collor, which occurs in the morning, when we started our journey daily.

I must congratulate the Pr Ary Velloso so happy for decision: pray for the people who, somehow, holding the reins that guide our people. And nobody knows that in our country, a lot of people still choose your steps on the basis of those guidelines that are placed on pedestals or higher, in some way, is no longer influenced by the things that speak or styles that convey.

Appreciate that the Pr Ary Velloso included in your list of prayer our President Fernando Collor, so that the highest representative of God on earth always seek the guidance for the decisions it has taken.

I have the habit of praying for prominent and important personalities. The prayers that we have done in favor of the President stem from the desire I have - and certainly do all Brazilians - to see, as soon as possible, the sharp decline in the poverty that touches on numerous points of the national territory. However, after reading the article to which I refer, I was awakened to do the same thing, and now include prominent names in my relationship, different segments of the community and that, as the author of the article, without any promotional interests. Particularly because even prayed to God, and if I am trumpeter of biblical truth (the highest award, as I said in previous article) that more could be looking for?

What other evangelicals might not only include authorities and prominent people in their prayers, but also intensify the practice of talking with the Lord, for our Christian belief allows us to say that prayer is one of the most powerful tool we have in mission of announcing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
