= SANTIFICAI-VOS =

Certa ocasião conversávamos com algumas pessoas e assunto era a santificação a que alude Josué 3.5. Uma delas nos dizia ser impossível ao homem alcançar a santificação, pois - enfatizava – galgar a condição de santo seria investir-se de um atributo que é exclusivo do Senhor, como o são a onisciência, a onipresença e a onipotência. E afirmava mesmo não compreender a exortação contida no texto.

Ouvíamos atentamente e, aos poucos, penetrávamos na visão completamente distorcida de tão importante trecho bíblico, o que nos permitiu fazer algumas considerações. Explicamos que quando Josué afirmou “santificai-vos...”, ele disse em outras palavras, “buscai a santificação”, “caminhai em direção à santificação”, “caminhai em direção ao Senhor”, ou, ainda, “buscai a Deus”. Qualquer pessoa, por mais simples que seja, por menos conhecimento que tenha, é dotada de condições naturais que lhe permitem saber o que desagrada a Deus. Quando abandonamos o próximo, praticamos a mentira, adulteramos entregamo-nos a embriagues, não estamos buscando a santificação, não estamos nos aproximando de Deus. Mas quando fugimos do pecado, resistimos ao maligno. Oramos, abominamos a idolatria, lemos a Bíblia, reunimo-nos na Casa do Senhor, entregamos o dízimo participamos da proclamação do Evangelho de Nosso senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo. Estamos buscando a santificação. Estamos compreendendo e acatando a exortação de Josué 3.5 e, consequentemente, estamos aperfeiçoando nossa comunhão com Deus.

O texto não está dizendo, como querem alguns, que se buscarmos a santificação Deus nos abençoa. Não é isso. O Senhor abençoa a todos, indistintamente. O que o versículo diz, sem a menor sombra de dúvidas, é que Deus tem sempre bênçãos especiais para o seu povo e, mais que isso, desfruta de todas elas plenamente, com a vida física e espiritual em perfeita sintonia com o glorioso Criador.

Só aquele que procura aproximar-se cada vez mais de Deus tem condições de compreendê-lo em toda sua majestade.

Sanfiquemo-nos continuamente e estejamos aptos a perceber todas as bênçãos que Deus prepara para nós em todos os momentos de nossas vidas.

= SANCTIFY YOU =

One occasion talked with some people and the matter was referred to sanctification Joshua 3.5. One of them told us it is impossible for man to achieve sanctification because - emphasized - climb the condition of saint would invest is an attribute that is exclusive of the Lord, as are the omniscience, the omnipresence and omnipotence. And it said not to understand the exhortation in the text.

I listened carefully and, little by little, penetravamos completely distorted the vision of this important biblical passage, which allowed us to make some considerations. Explained that when Joshua said “santificai you ...”, he said in other words, “seek the sanctification,” “truck toward sanctification,” “truck toward the Lord”, or “to seek God”. Anyone, for that is simple, with less knowledge you have, is endowed with natural conditions that let you know what displeases God. When you leave the next, practice lying, adulterated entregamos us drunk, we are not trying to sanctification, we are not closer to God. But when sin of shirk, to resist evil. We pray, to abhor idolatry, read the Bible, meet us in the house of the Lord, delivered the tenth part of the proclamation of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are seeking the sanctification. We are understanding and respecting the exhortation of Joshua 3.5, and therefore we improve our communion with God.

The text is not saying, as some want, seek the sanctification that God blesses us. Not so. The Lord bless to all, indiscriminately. What the verse says, without the slightest shadow of doubt, that God always has special blessings for their people and, more importantly, enjoys them all fully with the physical and spiritual life in perfect harmony with the glorious Creator.

Only those seeking proximity to God more and more able to understand it in all its majesty.

Santifiquemo-nos us continuously and we are able to realize all the blessings that God prepares for us in all moments of our lives.
