= O JORNAL BATISTA - FONTE INESGOTÁVEL DE SABER =

Lendo, há algum tempo, a bibliografia indicada pelo Seminário Teológico do Sul, com vistas à realização do vestibular de acesso, constatei que entre as obras constavam “exemplares de O Jornal Batista”.

Inicialmente não entendi bem, posto que, como regra geral, jornais não são recomendados, em se tratando de concursos para ingresso em estabelecimentos de nível superior do ensino secular. E meu espanto, à época, se justificava, pois eram raros os meus contatos com O Jornal Batista.

Ocorre que resolvi assina-lo e o recebo todas as semanas. A leitura, então, passou a ser regular. Comecei a penetrar no âmago de cada artigo, de cada publicação. Isso levou-me, inclusive, a manusear mais as Sagradas Escrituras e outras literaturas pertinentes. Fui tomado, também, de um desejo maior pela leitura. Muitos testemunhos, trazidos a público, impressionaram-me sobremaneira. Pude constatar o quanto se pode fazer pela divulgação do Evangelho de Cristo. Enfim, acabei por concluir que um semanário do quilate de O Jornal Batista jamais poderia ficar de fora, no rol de escritos recomendados para aqueles que se dispõem a freqüentar uma Faculdade de Teologia.

Agora, lendo-o semanalmente, posso testemunhar o quanto seus artigos têm contribuído para meu crescimento espiritual. Muito dos sermões que proferi, na pregação da Palavra de Deus, e outros já preparados para as oportunidades que surgirem, foram inspirações nas publicações do nosso jornal.

Um deles, com base em artigo recente, tracei um paralelo entre os fatos ocorridos em Gn. 22.1-13 com a realidade atual, destacando cinco pontos: O chamado celestial, a resposta do grande patriarca, a exigência, a caminhada de ida (difícil, por se tratar de um ser humano, mas confiante) e a volta, (cercada do maior júbilo, pelo desfecho favorável). Jesus Cristo está chamando, “eis que estou à porta e bato...”, e a resposta da humanidade pecadora deve ser idêntica à de Abrahão, “eis-me aqui”. Jesus Cristo faz uma exigência: “deixe o ímpio o seu caminho e o homem malvado os seus planos e se converta ao Senhor...” A caminhada de ida, ao encontro do único Salvador de almas, poderá parecer difícil, em razão dos compromissos assumidos com o mundanismo, mas deve haver firme confiança de que tudo transcorrerá sob orientação divina, para que haja um desfecho favorável e sem dúvida alguma todos os obstáculos de natureza material serão transpostos. Então, a volta para uma nova vida com Jesus Cristo será das mais felizes e agradáveis.

Que nosso jornal continue mantendo tão elevado padrão.

= THE JOURNAL BAPTIST - AN INEXHAUSTIBLE SOURCE OF KNOW =

Reading for some time, the literature indicated by the Southern Theological Seminary, with a view to achieving the vestibular access, found that among the works included copies of The Official Batista.

Initially not well understood since, as a general rule, newspapers are not recommended in the case of competitions to enter at the top level of secular education. And my astonishment, at the time, was justified, because my contacts were rare with The Official Batista.

It happens resolvi signs it and get every week. The reading then became a regular. I started to penetrate the core of each article in each publication. It took me even more to handle the Holy Scriptures and other relevant literature. I was taken also from a desire for more reading. Many witnesses, brought the audience, impressed me considerably. I could see how much can be done by dissemination of the Gospel of Christ. Anyway, I finally concluded that the fineness of a weekly newspaper the Journal Batist could never stay out in the written list of recommended for those who have to attend a School of Theology.

Now, reading it weekly, I can testify how his articles have helped my spiritual growth. Much of the lectures I gave in preaching the Word of God, and others have prepared for the opportunities that arise, were inspirations in the publications of our newspaper.

One, based on recent article, outlined a parallel between events in Gn. 22.1-13 with the current reality, with five points: The so-called celestial, the response of the great patriarch, the requirement, the walk-way (difficult as it is a human being, but confident) and back, (some of the largest joy, at favorable). Jesus Christ is calling, “here I am at the door and knock...”, and the answer of sinful humanity to be identical to that of Abrahão, “ behold me here”. Jesus Christ makes a demand: “Let the ungodly its way and the evil man and his plans to become the Lord...” The walk-way to meet the only Savior of souls, may seem difficult, because of commitments with the mundane, but there must be strong confidence that everything passed under divine guidance, to ensure a favorable and no doubt all obstacles such material will be translated. So, back to a new life with Jesus Christ is the most happy and pleasant.

That our newspaper continues maintaining high standard.
