= ORAR SEM CESSAR =

A Bíblia nos diz que devemos orar continuamente, isto é, sem parar, conforme se conclui facilmente das palavras do Apóstolo Paulo aos crentes de Tessalônica (I Tes. 5:17). Mas muitos podem imaginar que o cumprimento de tal recomendação torna-se impossível, já que é impraticável que uma oração só tenha começo e se transforme numa prece sem fim.

Não há nenhuma dificuldade no cumprimento de tão importante exortação. Orar sem cessar significa que a conversa com Deus deve ser freqüente. Significa que deve ocupar um lugar em nossas agendas. A oração deve ser tão importante como uma entrevista à imprensa, uma reunião de trabalho, a troca de um carro, o conserto do telefone, a compra da bicicleta, a marcação de uma consulta médica. A oração, enfim, deve ser tão importante como a marcação do ponto que, em regra, acontece quatro vezes ao dia.

Quantas vezes temos um problema, oramos, e somos atendidos! As orações de agradecimentos se sucedem. Dobramos nossos joelhos, alegramo-nos. Louvamos ao Senhor e nossa fé fica ainda mais fortalecida. Mas quando estamos bem e tudo correndo às mil maravilhas, nem sempre nos dispomos a orar com intensidade.

Orar sem cessar, irmãos, é mais que agradecer ou pedir, por nós ou por alguém. Orar sem cessar é ter disposição de manter íntima e profunda comunhão com Deus, constantemente.

= PRAY WITHOUT CEASING =

The Bible tells us we should pray continually, that is, without stopping, as we conclude easily the words of the Apostle Paul to the believers of Thessalonica (I Tes. 5:17). But many may think that compliance with this recommendation becomes impossible, since it is impractical to have a prayer just beginning and becomes a prayer without end.

There is no difficulty in fulfilling this important call. Pray without ceasing means that the conversation with God must be frequent. Means that it must occupy a place on our calendars. Prayer should be as important as an interview to the press, a working meeting, the exchange of a car, the repair of the phone, the purchase of the bicycle, the marking of a medical consultation. Prayer, in short, should be as important as marking the point that, as a rule, it happens four times a day.

How many times have a problem, pray, and we met! The prayers of thanks come. Doubled our knees, pleased us. We praise the Lord and our faith is further strengthened. But when we are well and everything running swimmingly, do not always have to pray with the intensity.

Pray without ceasing, brothers, is more than thank or ask for us or someone. Pray without ceasing is to have available to maintain close and deep communion with God, constantly.
